Coleman Competing in 2010 Olympia?

I dont really think saying Yates bringing his 93 package to the stage is akin to saying Coleman can bring his 03 package in. Coleman has been much bigger than his 03 package, and he has only been retired for 2 years, we arent talking about a guy coming in after 15 years and trying to get back into it. I dont even think he is in his mid forties yet, which is where a lot of these guys seem to be hitting their peak.

His last contest weight was 292 I believe, if he can correct some imbalances and focus on getting inside out shredded and come in at 265 or so, he should be very formidable.
I know I know. I was just making a joke. It’s pretty hard to turn back the clock 7 years though. Close to impossible

Kai is big, but he doesn’t look bloated at all. he looks 10x more aesthetic than Ruhl, Wolf, Cutler, Ronnie or any of those guys. he’s almost as big as most of em but he just looks so much better

LOL at putting Wolf’s name in the same sentance as Ruhl and Cutler. And please explain what was unaesthetic about Ronnie between 99 and 03.

With guys like Victor Martinez, Jackson, Heath, and Freeman on the same stage how can you say that Kai Greene is the representation of aesthetics? He won the Arnold because he has a good combination of size and proportion. But he is not and will never be known for his aesthetics. He’s the new model of the mass freak.

when did i say anything about Ronnie circa 99? oh wait, i didnt. my quote is RIGHT there, dont put words in my mouth.

Kai is big AND aesthetic, that why people cant touch him. size is always going to be important in a bodybuilding show, its like 90% of the fucking point. Kai i proportioned, Kai is huge. Kai will win. Kai is nothing like a mass monster, to me that term implies just rediculously huge with no proportion, no definition, just big. Kovacs is a mass monster, Kai Greene is the future.

Wait are you seriously criticizing the aesthtics of 2 retired bodybuilders? If you aren’t talking about Ron in his prime then when are you talking about? When he got his pro card at 220 lbs? In his last O appearance with his left side half the size of his right? Compare apples to apples or this is pointless.

From 1999 to 2003 Ron was the definition of proportion and size. Your only argument can be that Kai hasn’t hit his prime yet. I would argue otherwise. Kai doesn’t have poor aesthetics but he certainly will not be remembered for them. He will be remembered for his size and great conditioning.

Why mention Kovacs? He’s just a random huge guy of no importance to a discussion about competative BBers at the top of the sport.

If Cutler (the biggest guy on stage last year) didnt win the O what makes you think that Kai (not the biggest or the most aesthetic in this years lineup) will win? Cutler won the Arnold a bunch of times. The judges there are different, Greene has no chance at the O.

i bet 50 internet points Kai places top 3, and that it will be higher than Cutler.

Ronnie didn’t only compete from 99-03 so i don’t know why you are so fixed on those years.

i brought up Kovacs as a reference to what a ‘mass monster’ actually is.

i’d like to keep this on topic but you really seem to lack comprehension, i mean you really couldn’t figure out why i brought up Kovacs when i said

“Kai is nothing like a mass monster, to me that term implies just rediculously huge with no proportion, no definition, just big. Kovacs is a mass monster…” ?

come on dude.
You’re on

And based on your definition of mass monster it would seem as if someone fitting that description has never been on a elite bodybuilding stage. That was my point. Everyone at the elit level has a certain level of mass, shape, proportion and conditioning. I guess Ruhl is the closest thing to someone who did well in the sport without a good combo of the 4 categories.

Just for kicks here’s my prediction. Heath, Cutler, Jackson, Martinez, Arnold Schwareznegger

I’ll go the extra mile and say IMPOSSIBLE. Lonnie, it’s OVER for Coleman, man!

(Btw, I looked up his birthdate to see how old he was. He’s 45 and has the same birthday as me. Coincidence? Nope, I’m the next big thing in bodybuilding, bitches!)

And FTR, my prediction is Heath, Jackson (they always give the former Mr. O 2nd place if he loses), Martinez, Cutler, Kai.

Like someone said, Wolf is a nonfactor. Martinez’s placing depends on his injured leg and conditioning and whether or not he even competes (dead sister).

Yes it has been known for a while that Ron has been planning to compete in Europe.

If Heath wins will he be the youngest to ever win the O?

Absolutely not! Arnold won when he was 23, man!

Heath has only been training the last 6-7 years but he’s like 28(I think).

that’s pretty damn impressive

they do but theres other things that can’t be tweaked like those, things like insertions and muscle bellies, how your muscles actually line up with each other, etc. i think Kai brings more of that to the stage although not like Dex but he’s not a Ronnie either. The trend seems to be swinging back to more of an aesthetic look as we discussed but this is bodybuilding and size is still probably the biggest factor of all. Kai brings the whole package. the competition this year will be very tough you guys make some good notes for other contenders so i’m hesistant to say Kai will come out in first, who knows. but i do think he’ll take top 3. the guy did win the Arnold after all.

The fact that Arnold had 5 Olympia titles by 28 or the fact that Heath has only been training 6-7 years?

Shit, I guess both are pretty damn impressive.

This is what I am talking about when I say a combination of mass and aesthetics. This version of Ron’s physique will never be matched. Kai Greene isn’t even the same league as Ronnie Coleman in his prime.

Edit:
And I’m a fan of Kai. He seems like a cool guy. I’m hoping I see him walking around the streets Brooklyn one day. I’ll challenge him to an pancake eating contest.

LOL.

Seriously though, do you guys really think Heath will win? In his 10 weeks out pics, his arms seem way out of proportion imo.

I haven’t the slightest clue to be honest. I figure Heath has just as much of a chance as anyone. He’s a Weider guy, he’s got the hype, his physique is certainly up there with the best. I think he has just as good of a chance as anyone else. Jackson may have an edge because he’s the title holder. I think it’s possible. 10 weeks out is still a long time and his arms will always look too big, I think

Here are some recent pics of Kai…apparently weighing in at 310! Live - Are you sure he is not playing the mass game?

Mass - not aesthetic

Last one

i think he’s going to outsize a lot of the competition closest in terms of size would probably be Cutler but Kai has the edge on him in terms of aesthetics and really i think if someone can pull off an aesthetic look at a big size Kai is definitely one of the names who comes to mine. of course Vic is great, so is Freeman…it’s not going to be easy but when is it? just saying i think Kai is going to be tough to beat.

Had no idea Kai got that massive off season, damn. Big boy. Let me see if I can find some shots of the other guys this far out.

Naw… I guess these guys keep their prep pretty tightly under wraps… If anyone else has any post them up!
