Coleman Competing in 2010 Olympia?

LOL at putting Wolf’s name in the same sentance as Ruhl and Cutler. And please explain what was unaesthetic about Ronnie between 99 and 03.

With guys like Victor Martinez, Jackson, Heath, and Freeman on the same stage how can you say that Kai Greene is the representation of aesthetics? He won the Arnold because he has a good combination of size and proportion. But he is not and will never be known for his aesthetics. He’s the new model of the mass freak.

Live - Have you seen any recent pics of Kai? His stomach along with distension in his abs continues to grow. I 100% agree with bonez, Kai is a mass monster…NOT aesthetic! And how can you even compare wolf to guys like Cutler and Ruhl to Wolf? Wolf still has a tight waistline!

Ronnies stomach is not the issue, his injuries are the problem. His left bicep and tricep were torn (hence he is always flexing his right arm in pics), his lat was torn (rear lat spread looks bad). He has suffered from lower back injuries as well.

Ronnie will never compete in the olympia. His sponsor may pressure him into saying he plans to, but this is simply to keep his name out there along with their product.

Here is a recent vid of Ronnie guest posing:

To be particular, the problems weren’t tears. He said he had nerve impingement/damage in his left side. He said that it affected his left tricep and left lat causing them to atrophy due to an inability to fire. He has also stated that he has fixed the problem.

Kai is huge, and he does bring a good package. He gets pretty fucking shredded, but he doesn’t deserve to win the O imo. Top 3 maybe but others look better then him.

when did i say anything about Ronnie circa 99? oh wait, i didnt. my quote is RIGHT there, dont put words in my mouth.

Kai is big AND aesthetic, that why people cant touch him. size is always going to be important in a bodybuilding show, its like 90% of the fucking point. Kai i proportioned, Kai is huge. Kai will win. Kai is nothing like a mass monster, to me that term implies just rediculously huge with no proportion, no definition, just big. Kovacs is a mass monster, Kai Greene is the future.

is this a drawing or is this an actual photo?

One thing that seems bad about ronnie right now is he is apparently at his usual off season weight but looks no where as near as good in his guest posing as he has in the past. Appears to be carrying more bodyfat and his back still looks messed up. I would love to see him shredded again though.

its a real picture from like 2 years ago I believe. I have the Muscular Development magazine it’s from.

I still dont see how you guys think Kai CANT win the O. The only people he didn’t beat out at the Arnold earlier this year are Jackson, Heath, and Wolf. Why, because they didn’t even show up.
Not to mention no one has seen a glimpse as to what Kai looks like now so in the end no one really knows what he’ll bring come show time.

I’ve always liked him, especially the video interviews he did while prepping for the Arnold. I hope he wins.

Wolf wont be a factor. If Martinez can figure out his conditioning and add some size to the injured leg he has a chance at the top three. If not, it’s still all about Cutler Jackson and Heath. Kai may break the top 5 if Martinez is off again.

Wait are you seriously criticizing the aesthtics of 2 retired bodybuilders? If you aren’t talking about Ron in his prime then when are you talking about? When he got his pro card at 220 lbs? In his last O appearance with his left side half the size of his right? Compare apples to apples or this is pointless.

From 1999 to 2003 Ron was the definition of proportion and size. Your only argument can be that Kai hasn’t hit his prime yet. I would argue otherwise. Kai doesn’t have poor aesthetics but he certainly will not be remembered for them. He will be remembered for his size and great conditioning.

Why mention Kovacs? He’s just a random huge guy of no importance to a discussion about competative BBers at the top of the sport.

If Cutler (the biggest guy on stage last year) didnt win the O what makes you think that Kai (not the biggest or the most aesthetic in this years lineup) will win? Cutler won the Arnold a bunch of times. The judges there are different, Greene has no chance at the O.

I always thought wolf looked good though. I still think Jays waist and “blockiness” will look horrible if he is standing next to guys like heath, freeman, martinez, and melvin anthony. anyone hear word from branch warren, he did a guest posing thing not long ago he looked to be in pretty good shape, but he still IMHO dosn’t have the look that is going now a days.

i bet 50 internet points Kai places top 3, and that it will be higher than Cutler.

Ronnie didn’t only compete from 99-03 so i don’t know why you are so fixed on those years.

i brought up Kovacs as a reference to what a ‘mass monster’ actually is.

i’d like to keep this on topic but you really seem to lack comprehension, i mean you really couldn’t figure out why i brought up Kovacs when i said

“Kai is nothing like a mass monster, to me that term implies just rediculously huge with no proportion, no definition, just big. Kovacs is a mass monster…” ?

come on dude.

I dont really think saying Yates bringing his 93 package to the stage is akin to saying Coleman can bring his 03 package in. Coleman has been much bigger than his 03 package, and he has only been retired for 2 years, we arent talking about a guy coming in after 15 years and trying to get back into it. I dont even think he is in his mid forties yet, which is where a lot of these guys seem to be hitting their peak.

His last contest weight was 292 I believe, if he can correct some imbalances and focus on getting inside out shredded and come in at 265 or so, he should be very formidable.

kai will get top 5, to be honest its really down too phil heath, dex and vic…I was thinking about this the other day victor maybe has missed his chance at getting the O, he should have won it in 07 but got robbed. if vic can get his conditioning on point, bring up his legs it’ll be up to him and heath

I don’t know of a single pro bodybuilder who’s stepped on a competition stage in the last 10 years
“just ridiculously huge with no proportion, no definition, just big”
You’re not really a fan of bodybuilding are you.

On the subject matter it would be interesting to see what kind of physique Coleman presents whether he does go for max mass or tries to produce a more refined physique.

It still a year away regardless. Alot can happen.
