I would like to see the rest of the practice film, it looked like the kid was doing a drill on his own for a reason, probably because he is a punk in the game. We had a guy on the team in high school that was a practice all-american, then in a game he caught a short kick off and when the other team got close he went to the ground to avoid the hit. I am willing to bet this was another kid who was the star in high school and now he can’t adjust to not being the man.
I also agree that the kid should have stood up and popped the coach, I am all for respecting the coach but when they come at you, all bets are off.

We were practicing taking charges and the coach mowed over my friend and gave him a concussion. He wasn’t taking it easy on us and he was trying to teach us to get some balls and stand in there. Nobody questioned the coaches method and made a big deal out of it.

Whether the hit was warranted or not, the real problem is the kid being a gigantic pussy and complaining to the police/media about it and ruining this guy’s career over nothing.
No one wants to get blindsided in basketball. It IS a contact sport but that particular contact gets a whistle every time. It’s a foul, and it could lead to injury. I wouldn’t do it to my players during a drill if I were a coach because I wouldn’t want to risk fucking up somebody’s ankle or something during practice. But if it happens, stand up and play harder and be just as physical with him. Don’t do what this little bitch did.

Yeah kids complained in the locker rooms to eachother, but nobody ever would’ve thought of going to the police. The last year I played minor hockey I was fucking around at practice being a dick so the coach decided to stop drills and have a scimmage. The puck drops and goes into the corner so I go after it, out of the blue BOOM i get crushed into the boards by our coach who was one of the best around and respected by everyone.

You know, I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I really can’t decide if the kids coming up really are becoming weak little bitches on a basic level, or if the negative attention of the internet/media just makes it seem that way.
