Coach Davies Renegade Program

I just wanted to post this for all those that have been following Coach Davies training methodologies. After consulting with Coach D. for about three weeks via e-mail, I went ahead and purchased his 8 week training system. The first two weeks have been killer. He incorporates speed, power, agility, gpp, and strength work into an incredibly brutal workout. The program cost me 95 bucks. I think it would be beneficial for anyone looking to improve athletically, or just looking for an intense workout. Coach Davies has helped me tweak the program to benefit me from a basketball standpoint, but the program would be beneficial for any sport specific traing.

I’m just curious, how different is it from the workouts he has been posting on T-mag? Is it more sport specific? What’s the difference?

You are getting about half.

Kato, we’re only getting half of the workouts? I couldn’t possibly do anymore than this! In fact, I’m trying to figure out how to get through the workouts quicker…as two hours or more is too much time for me. It’s cutting into other things. I can’t imagine doing more work in one day!

It’s not so much the length of the workout but exercise selection. Maybe you should try to split your workout, try some in the morning and do your lifting in the evening. Just an idea.

Nate Dogg I purchased the program because it has the speed and agility section on there and I wanted it for my athletes.
The workouts coach has been putting here on the forum are more difficult and complex from a weight training standpoint and now that he’s starting to add in sprints and such they are more difficult overall.

Kato, I wish I had the time to split my workouts. That would definitely help. But I can barely get up in time for work in the morning as is. So I doubt I’d be able to do a morning and evening workout. I’ll just have to figure out how to run through the programs quicker. Or in some cases, I may have to cut some of the volume.

Like Kato said, the best thing to do is to split the workout. I’ve been doing the jump rope rounds, agility, speed and power work, and GPP in the morning before class. I then do the strength phase in the late afternoon, before I go to work in the evening.
