eh, one joint a day? Come on, won’t hold back any gains at all.

Won’t effect fat loss or gain.

Won’t mess with test levels.

The only thing it will do long term is it will cause lung cancer.

Plese do some thinking for yourself and stop parroting BS you’ve been spoon fed all your life.

Just as soon as you stop trying to justify your drug habit.

Is it good for you? Is it bad for you?

Who knows?

All I know is that the people I know that smoke a lot of pot are all losers.

I also know a lot of people that only smoke occasionally and are quite successful in life.

Just like all fun things moderation is probably the key.

You haven’t realized that MOST people whether they smoke or not are losers.

For example: what type of people predominate in gyms? LOSERS. What I mean by losers is that they make no progress with their bodies. The majority of these losers does not smoke and will probably talk trash about weed.

Then there is the minority that comes to T Nation and actually does front squats and power cleans. THe majority probably does not smoke either (including the trash talkers here), but there will always be a percentage that does smoke.

You say the key here is moderation. What’s really important here is that weed is not interfering with daily life activities, causing limitations.

If this guy is reaching all of his goals, and decides to travel to jupiter every night before going to bed I think that’s cool.

People always try to bash MJ because of its negative effects (most are bullshit) and rarely concentrate on the POSITIVE EFFECTS.

That’s the real secret. Tobacco companies want you to think it is all smoke that causes cancer, not the radioactive fertilizer they use. Most pot is not grown in radioactive soil.
Brilliant!

I am sure you are right, most pot is not grown in radioactive soil. Just the really good stuff is.

They are even saying that the smoke from the grill leaves cancer causing stuff on the meat. Not just the burned meat but deposits from smoke.

There is no way smoking can be anything but damaging to the lungs.

The only question is how damaging is it.
so we shouldn’t breath then cause all the crap floathing overhead from china ain’t exactly potpourri…i’m sure that sh*t will cause a third nipple quicker than some ganja…

Who cares about the “scientific” studies? Does anyone know anybody who does drugs on a daily basis and is successful in life or the weight room? I’ll bite… I do it daily, and in 2 years went from a 168lb pussy to 205lb mofo. I am lower BF% than 2 years ago, and lift 3-4 times a week without missing a workout. My quality of life is great. I also went from not being able to pick up my 310lb weight set off the ground, to Deadlifting 490lbs currently. I have a wonderful job that pays great, and own a house, 2 SUV’s, and fancy toys. I am also looking at about $300 in Biotest products on my fridge. So, yeah…Im one of those loser burnouts that failed in life.

Give me a fucking break haters.

oh werd!!! jupiter!!! the furtherest i’ve is the darksideofthemon…

On a related note, do any of the pot smokers here have any advice on avoiding giving in to munchies?

Almost always whenever I smoke, a perpetual hunger sets in that just can’t be satisfied. This is especially detrimental when you’re trying to cut. And even when you’re bulking, the food you crave is none of the healthy kind. It’s all about starchy, sugar-laden carbs and salty snacks.

I have smoked for years (but not for about 3 months) and i’d agree- not before, but if it makes you want to eat and sleep more after your workout, all cool.

I used to think ‘yeah you can smoke and lift’ because hiphop is all about muscularity, and smoking. Fool. Ouch. This is a mistake. lol

Also, the people who said its an addiction just like others, are naive. It’s an addiction more like heroin ('ive seen both, and a friend is a junkie/stoner and he agrees) than alcohol- one of mental but not physical activity. So, it’s got to be end of the day shit. If you got that, and can fight the inevitable inertia-reflex of being a stoner, cool. Chill.

Did domeone say arnie used to get bent? This i’d like to see. I bet he’d be the single funniest guy ever to see stoned. Imagine him talking real slow… And the size of his munchies! Please someone have/post a link to a video or photo of Arnold getting high

Oh wait! I just remembered, if i was caned and had to suddenly sober up, i realised high-protein (like 300g turkey, all at once, on its own) will sober you right up, quick. Crafty kids… So if you get high, you might kill that high if you’re eating good, don’t scrifice good meals just to stay bent. Take it ez people

Uhh, heroine and alcohol addicts suffer from sever physical withdrawals, including chills, nausea, panic attacks. Both of those drugs create a physical addiction where the body has to have it to function. Pot is not like that. It is mentally addicting, as in withdrawals are limited to constant thinking about it, frustration when not high, and in some cases insomnia. It does not make one physically sick when getting off of it like alcohol and heroine, and even cocaine.

That’s why there are detox centers for those types of drugs. One can leave pot on oneself, while a junkie has to step down slowly or risk dangerous side effects while detoxing.

Exactly exactly exactly. Smoke in all forms is cancerous.

I wouldn’t say I have a drug habit, LOL, I just like to have a little fun once and awile. Hey I deserve it.

LOL! Haha you caught me. No, I used to be a level seven mage toker, but I decided to quit because I have an addictive personality and it makes me anti social. Although I?ve always wanted to grow a plant because they?re beautiful plants and fun to cultivate, I think I would start making excuses if I had a fat cheeba tree blooming right in front of me. 8)

As for the lad who called me out on being behind the times in terms of what the latest claims are about the dangers of ganja, I was only using that article to show that I am not unaware of existing and possible negative aspects of “drug abuse”. Was the last claim about cannabis that caught my eye in the paper.

Hey, that lad would be me. J/K

You’re right though, all those articles about negatives are always based on “abuse”. Hell you can abuse anything and make any good thing into a bad thing.

You’re right bigragoo. Pot is not like heroin in every aspect, or it’d be called ‘heroin’ ;). I just thought the analogy was fitting considering that i have a long history with skunk (too long perhaps) and the greatest problem i encountered (cancer etc haven’t manifested yet, but might) was robbing me of motivation. I’m an ambitious person, and i lik eto work hard to grow, and achieve. But give me smoke, i’m gonna write lyrics, play ps2, or watch poker

Ps- someon please tell me you have a picture of arnie halfbaked, that was what was meant by ‘small’, right? I’d love to see that.

I’m still obsessed, yo I don’t smoke weed or cess!

Note the title of the thread:

“Chronic Marijuana Use”

This indicates drug addiction, not just a guy who puffs a little and gets sleepy.

It’s amazing how people rationalize and justify their addictions.

I know people who have a case of “Chronic Alcohol Consumption” and can’t seem to go out to a club without drinking. How is this not the same? They function seemingly well and their lives aren’t falling apart. Why is it you associate extreme addiction the way you do? Are all of the people who have drinks every time they go out “addicts”?
