Who fucking cares really?
There’s way too many morality police on the boards lately. As if any of you have never behaved in such a fashion.
I did like the bit at 3:03 when he said, “You’re a nice guy, you’re a nice guy…”
Awesome.

I don’t see the big deal with this. It’s not like it was his mother or sister…well?..umm…nevermind.
At least you can understand him here, unlike as Batman.
The AD downplayed it and said it was and isolated incident.
In an interview with E! Online, assistant director and producer of Terminator: Salvation Bruce Franklin said it was an isolated incident. In the interview, Franklin said:
“If you are working in a very intense scene and someone takes you out of your groove…It was the most emotional scene in the movie,” said Franklin. “And for him to get stopped in the middle of it. He is very intensely involved in his character. He didn’t walk around like that all day long. It was just a moment and it passed.”

& on that note:
Great spoof.

secondly, scrutiny? and someone else said pressure? really? Bale is an actor, meaning he makes and ridiculous amount of money to pretend to be someone else in an over priced movie in a movies series that should have ended when Arnold and Edward furlong pulled out… if anyone is under pressure its that grip or lighting guy, who’s job is on the line, and needs the money a lot more than Bale, and who had probably done the same thing he was doing 100 times on a few different sets and never been yelled at for it.
and does KG yell at the opposing fans for waving shit during free throws? does Obabma complain about his blackberry going off while he is signing a bill? do powerlifters get upset when people are making noise and clanking weights around during a PR rep? no. sometimes lights have to be moved during a scene, they move them the way they were taught, and you’d expect a professional to work through it. or, at least ask nicely.

See, that right there is the problem.
So, as I said, this rant is taken out of context, none of us was actually there, only heard that 2 minute outburst. But, you assume he’s done it before, and is some kind of prima-donna actor.
Now, I’m not saying he HASN’T done it before, but your assumption that he has based on an out of context moment says more about how people CHOOSE to perceive this than the reality of Bale’s personality.
Again, I don’t really care, but there is a lot of assumption going on here…

Agree. Whatever the motivation, temper tantrums don’t sound any better coming from grown men than they do two-year-olds. You could hear his mouth foaming.
Lots of people work under intense pressure. Most of them manage to act like rational adults regardless.

The KG comparison especially is a joke considering it’s his job to be able to perform in an opposing team’s arena with fan noise and distraction. Bale is not paid to have the DP interrupt his scene(which for all you know may have been by far their best take at that time) and “play through it.” That’s precisely the opposite of what he is paid to do actually, since he is paid to do scenes to the best of his ability in the shortest time period(least amount of takes). It’s more akin to someone accidentally fucking with the architecture of the Sistine Chapel as Michelangelo painted it.
Now whether or not you think this warrants his reaction is up to you, but there are tons of actors that are notoriously very hard to work with, and that list is some of the absolute best of the business, past and present.
As others have mentioned, we’ve all flipped out before when somebody fucked up. It’s not a big deal. Everyone here has done exactly the same thing to someone else. Keep in mind we have no idea what the DP said back to him, he could have been cussing him out just as harshly.
It’s not nice, but it’s not evil, either.

no, im not saying at all that Bale has done it before, i was implying that the DP had possibly done the same thing before, without consequence…

yes i know the KG comp was a bit far fetched, but, again its all speculation, but what if the director set the shot up like “ok, your going to turn around and start your lines as the lights change and…” and the nature of the lights changing means the DP has to move… idk, even if the guy did it 2 or 3 times, doesn’t mean Bale had to go Pacino on him…

Never at work. Never threatened a co-worker.
Precisely. If you did that at my company you would be fired on the spot, no questions asked. It is written directly in the HR policies that any violence, or threat of violence against another employee is grounds for immediate dismissal.
Yea - and none of you are getting paid 30 million dollars for your job either. It seems kind of foolish to try to apply what flys in the average business workplace vs. the set of a 150 million dollar movie.
Now, am I saying that he’s entitled because he’s a movie star? No, absolutely not. I’m saying what’s considered “acceptable” behavior at his job, and yours, are vastly different, so comparing them is pure folly…
Anyway, I think the bottom line is that some people are going to be outraged at hearing this, and some are just going to shrug and say “Yea - so what?”
I fall firmly into the latter category.
I don’t really care either unless it was me that he was yelling at.
On the flip side, I don’t care how much money someone makes, that doesn’t make them fundamentally better than anyone else, and the rules of basic professionalism should apply universally.
You see this crap all the time with celebs thinking and acting like they are better than everyone around them. Its a bunch of shit.

You’ve flipped out for nearly four minutes, ranting and threatening and going on and on with flecks of spittle flying? I find that hard to believe. I like you too much to believe it.
Speaking only for myself I don’t judge it evil. I judge it obnoxious. Childish.
I thought it was hilarious. Some of you dipshits need to calm the fuck down and enjoy life more.
You’ll live longer.

Awesome for you. Of course, you don’t work in entertainment. Anyone who has knows that this is par for the course, and repeated daily on sets, newsrooms, design offices, etc throughout the country. So he acted like a dick. Big deal, for all you know they all went out for a beer later. Entertainment is full of big personalities who are driven and passionate about what they do, and get paid to be raw and emotional.
So when a guy is raw and emotional on a set, no one is surprised. I hope Bale apologized, he’s an ass if he didn’t, but that type of personality is why you pay to watch movies with him and not the guy who became assistant manager of a grocery store.
For those who don’t have access via work:
Christian Bale: KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS!
Shane Hurlbut: Christian, Christian ?
Bale: I want you off the fucking set you prick!
Shane: Christian, I’m sorry.
Bale: No, don’t just be sorry, think for one fucking second. What the FUCK are you DOING ? Are you professional or not?
Shane: Yes I am.
Bale: Do I fucking walk around and rip down ?
Bruce Franklin: Christian, Christian ?
Bale: No, shut the fuck up Bruce! Do I want - no! No! Don’t shut me up.
Franklin: I’m not shutting you up.
Bale: Am I going to walk around and rip your fucking lights down, in the middle of a scene? Then why the fuck are you walking right through? Ah da da dah, like this in the background. What the fuck is it with you? What don’t you fucking understand?
Shane: (inaudible)
Bale: You got any fucking idea about, hey, it’s fucking distracting having somebody walking up behind Bryce in the middle of the fucking scene? Give me a fucking answer! What don’t you get about it?
Shane: I was looking at the light.
Bale: Ohhhhh, goooood for you. And how was it? I hope it was fucking good, because it’s useless now, isn’t it?
Shane: Ok.
Bale: Fuck-sake man, you’re amateur. McG, you got fucking something to say to this prick?
McG: I didn’t see it happen.
Bale: Well, somebody should be fucking watching and keeping an eye on him.
McG: Fair enough.
Bale: It’s the second time that he doesn’t give a FUCK about what is going on in front of the camera, alright? I’m trying to fucking do a scene here, and I am going “Why the fuck is Shane walking in there? What is he doing there?” Do you understand my mind is not in the scene if you’re doing that?
Shane: I absolutely apologize. I’m sorry, I did not mean anything by it.
Bale: Stay off the fucking set man. For fuck-sake. Alright, let’s go again.
McG: Let’s just take a minute.
Bale: Let’s not take a fucking minute, let’s go again. And have YOU fucking walking in! Can I have Tom put this on please.
Franklin: Can I have Tom in wardrobe please? Can I have Tom in wardrobe?
Bale: You’re unbelievable, you’re un-fucking-believable. Number of times you’re strolling-a-fucking around in the background. I’ve never had a DP behave like this. Ehhh?you don’t fucking understand what it’s like working with actors, that’s what that is.
Shane: No, that’s ?
Bale: That’s what that is man, I’m telling you. I’m not asking, I’m telling you. You wouldn’t have done that otherwise.
Shane: No, what it is, is looking at the light and making sure, that you are, ugh ?
Bale: I’M GOING TO FUCKING KICK YOUR FUCKING ASS IF YOU DON’T SHUT FOR A SECOND! ALRIGHT?
Unknowns: Christian, Christian. It’s cool.
Bale: I’m going to go?Do you want me to fucking go trash your lights? DO YOU WANT ME TO FUCKING TRASH YOUR? Then why are you trashing my scene?
Shane: I’m not trying to trash your scene.
Bale: You are trashing my scene!
Shane: Christian, I was only ?
Bale: You do it one more fucking time and I ain’t walking on this set if you’re still hired. I’m fucking serious. You’re a nice guy. You’re a nice guy, but that don’t fucking cut it when you’re bullshitting and fucking around like this on set.
McG: Alright, I know, let’s, let’s ? (inaudible) ?
Bale: Yeah, you might get it. He doesn’t fucking get it.
McG: I got it, I know. I get it. I get it. I know.
Bale: You might. He. Does. Not. Get It.
McG: We made good adjustments. For real, honestly. I get it. Just walk for five seconds.
Bale: No, I don’t need any fucking walking. He needs to stop walking.
McG: I get that ?
Bale: I ain’t the one walking. Let’s get Tom and put this back on and let’s go again. Seriously man, you and me, we’re fucking done professionally. Fucking ass.
