What an ass. On and on like a lunatic.
The DP guy should make up for it by walking through a love scene with the hot female (you know there has to be one) and make them have to do it again.

It wasn’t necessarily in the right, but shit, was a global news article really needed about a conflict Bale had with a crew worker.
Why people are interested in such trival shit always amazes me.

Yes

None of us know the details of that. None of us know if he had a bad day, what the scene was like, or exactly how the DP walked onto the set or for what specific reason.
I would be pissed off too if the DP would walk across the set like a clueless dipshit during an intense scene. I would imagine that it WOULD be distracting. DP’s are supposed to screw around with the lighting BEFORE or AFTER the scene, not DURING it.
How dare you bring logic and reason into this! Repent for your sensible thinking and call him a spoiled brat.

Bullshit - if you were under the same scrutiny an A list actor like Bale is under, I guarantee some examples of you flipping out and acting like an asshole would surface too.
I sure hope not.
So, what you’re telling me is that you never, ever have a bad day? Never a single moment in your life where you got pissed and lost your temper? That’s never, ever happened?
My point is that we all flip out occasionally. If you do it every day, all the time, then you’re just an asshole. But, since everyone at some point has a moment like that, and IF that person was under the same scrutiny as Bale - meaning that you’re on film or tape for at least 50% of your life - something like that would undoubtedly turn up.
And since it’s taken out of context, it’s easy to label the guy a psycho for losing his temper - something that EVERYONE does at one time or another…

Precisely. If you did that at my company you would be fired on the spot, no questions asked. It is written directly in the HR policies that any violence, or threat of violence against another employee is grounds for immediate dismissal.

Yes, repent before I flip out and launch into an abusive verbal tirade!
LOL… Seriously, this really doesn’t bother me, just calling it as I see it. I respect the opinion of everyone here, I just happen to have my own.

No problem here either. Of course, in a later interview Bale will probably say how he loves working with that DP. lol…

We do know this was around the same time Bale assaulted his Mother, possibly his sister. I think this shows it was either a harsh time in Bale’s life or he is just an asshole in general.

Yeah, I’m probably with you guys here: if you’re an asshole, a racist, something gets taken out of context, or the likes (Cosmo Kramer, Mel Gibson, Dog the Bounty Hunter, etc.), don’t blabber about how your words/actions were 100% opposite your true feelings, and you have no idea why you said what you said. That really makes me lose respect… just man up to it.
Haven’t any of you played team sports? You’ve never had an incident of one player getting upset at another because they feel one isn’t doing their job well?
We all have our outbursts I’m sure; thankfully they don’t all end up on YouTube.
He sure went on a long, long time though.

Yea - and none of you are getting paid 30 million dollars for your job either. It seems kind of foolish to try to apply what flys in the average business workplace vs. the set of a 150 million dollar movie.
Now, am I saying that he’s entitled because he’s a movie star? No, absolutely not. I’m saying what’s considered “acceptable” behavior at his job, and yours, are vastly different, so comparing them is pure folly…
Anyway, I think the bottom line is that some people are going to be outraged at hearing this, and some are just going to shrug and say “Yea - so what?”
I fall firmly into the latter category.
hardgnr wrote:
So anyone planning on seeing the movie, not going to go see it because of this?
I didn’t think so.
While listening to it I actually decided that.
All I can say is I hope T4 will be worth it - wonder what scene exactly it is in the movie that caused The Dark Knight to go all batshit on the DP

Dude… hands-down, best avatar on here
Not sure why people are so upset over this. To me, it just solidifies the fact that Bale is a really serious actor - that’s why he’s so good.
Everyone does things they arent proud of. Most just dont get caught on audio or camera. Someone who is in the limelight as much as bale is bound have things like this happen eventually. People get mad and people blow up but that doesnt mean they are assholes all the time. I dont condone his actions at all but I sort of understand them.
Yeah, it was bit over the top, but that level of passion or whatever you want to call it is probably why the guy is one of the best actors alive.
Genius and craziness seem to go hand in hand a lot.
