Chris Shugart's Blog

Well I would have made comments in his section but he keeps locking them to further posts :stuck_out_tongue:

I gotta say I loved the last 2 entries in there! He’s made some great points about trying things for yourself while at the same time if you write about it online you’ll take shit from people on both sides of the fence. I suppose it because people hate it when others are accomplishing things they only “want” to do.

Anyway just wanted to say good work on your blog lately Chris, I’ve been finding that I read your stuff before the articles posted on the main section lately.

Crew,

stop sucking up, you already got your free supplements!

…the irony of Chris complaining about this.

Dude, I was thinking the same thing.

…“as opposed to hating it when others build physiques way bigger than your own”.

It’s easy to tune you out, because since you weigh over 200 pounds you are:

  1. A steroid user
  2. A fat guy

Thus, thoroughly unqualified.

Don’t forget your belts to hold in your bulk bellies at the gym today guys.

Yea, thanks for the reminder - fat “monkeys” have to stick together. ; )

Still won’t post pictures of that awesome physique of his, but loves to keep slinging that shit…

Too funny.

I found that blog entry strange, since the guys who wear belts non-stop at my gym are the 150#, wife-beater wearing squat-rack curlers. The bigger guys only wear their belts on big lifts.

I don’t get it either. I like reading a lot of his stuff but he seems very bitter.

Agreed. I generally like the point of the articles, but his examples are far too often one dimensional (for lack of a better term).

He often uses anger and revulsion as a motivator. I have found that that burns bright but it doesn’t burn long and it can blow back.

Wow CrewPierce, are you like a mole? An instigator?

What if I manage to get over 300 pounds? What then?

I think I might just actually be deceased, at that point.

this is what we were talking about in the T-Cell on the Bodyweight and Size thread

Not sure if that was entirely fair after all, before Chris was the “fat loss” guy he was the one writing steroid articles.

For example:
http://www.T-Nation.com/article/features/the_prosteroid_roundtable&cr=

or

http://www.T-Nation.com/article/features/the_two_faces_of_juarez&cr=

He’s clearly not anti-bodybuilding and saying everyone over 200 is fat. Just look at the articles he wrote in 2001 with Ian King, or are you guys going to say that King is anti-bodybuilding as well?

Oops forgot the link:

I know you fatties are too lazy to actually look up the old articles! (KIDDING!)
