On one hand, yes, they are financially responsible. However, I wouldn’t say being able to afford $2k/month for childcare the idea that they can afford so many kids.

Stay with me as we change gears a bit.

Kids should be eating the finest food available, not processed foods, nor hormone/anti-biotic laden foods. I doubt many parents would be able to afford such a diet with so many kids. But, by making sacrifices in food quality, they are able to “afford” so many kids.

This goes for many though who only have one kid, one such reason I don’t want kids right now, we wouldn’t be able to sustain our food quality/workout time/healthy lifestyle to my standards.
What did you eat when you were a kid?
so you think it’s responsible for parents that can’t really afford to have kids, to have them anyways and feed them the SAD? putting organic/grass-fed aside, I’m talking lucky charms for breakfast, PB white bread sammiches and fast food dinners b/c maybe that’s all they can get by on. BTW- that literally was my diet as a kid.

The world needs ditch diggers too, bro. Everyone can’t be the best and brightest. As long as parents can feed, clothe, and shelter their kids (without gov’t assistance) and give them love, it’s all good in my book.

You sound like a fucking snob.
This.

Yes. This one.

If you don’t want to have kids because you don’t want them, that’s cool. However, don’t make out that you’re doing it from a non-antibiotic laden meat high ground. Even the best and the brightest eat wieners and snow cones.

But if more people ate grass fed llama, pheasant eggs and Himalayan milk then it would force the cost down for everyone.

I’m a snob because I think certain people shouldn’t be having kids? Please, I’m waiting to hear that you have never said certain people shouldn’t have kids based upon your own beliefs.

BTW- last I checked this world has too many fucking people as it is, at what point is enough enough, honestly… there has to be a point where the world cannot support more people.

I understand what you mean and my own family now buys organic eggs and grass fed beef, etc. However, I don’t think that people that choose not to do that are unfit as parents or have made poor decisions that will result in harm coming to their children or their health. Do you know anyone that was raised exclusively on the types of foods you’re suggesting?

Please don’t take this the wrong way, as I said before, I get your point but I think it’s kind of shitty that you are this judgmental about your sister’s choices. No offense meant.

My apologies if that’s how I came off as if someone that couldn’t afford organic foods shouldn’t have kids, it’s more along the lines of at least being able to buy real food, and not processed garbage… at what point is it not child abuse if a 10 yr old has type 2 diabetes

If you mean when you say “grass fed Llama, pheasant eggs and Yak milk” you mean a PB&J with a glass of whole milk, then yeah… I had that a lot as a kid.

There comes a point, if your child is strong enough willed, that he will starve himself for 36+hours rather than eat what you want him to. You know what you do? You give the kid Lucky Fucking Charms.

And if you are going to judge people (me) because I like to bring the boy to Wendy’s and then buy him a slushie before going to see Transformers, then yeah, you should avoid having kids.

One other thing, I’m not relating this food thing to my cousin and wanting to have more kids. They could actually afford the type of food I’m talking about, the convo just morphed into that issue in general as well.

My original part was I’d find it hard to want a 3rd or even 4th kid if it was costing me another $1400/month, when 2 kids suffices on many levels. Of course, I realize not everyone thinks like I do.

There’s also the fact that having less kids would allow parents to provide an even better life for fewer kids. For example, not many parents would be able to afford to pay for college for say 4 kids, but maybe 1-2.

Taking them for such a meal prior to a movie is one thing, making it a daily/weekly thing is another. I see parents feeding their kids chocolate milk and Capri suns like they’re water on a daily basis.

Slushies suck after you’re 10… now Frosties, I’d go for one of those right now

He’ll always remember this, too.

See, dad wasn’t very much involved in my life while I was growing up, it made a HUGE impession on me the times that he was.

My parents made sure I ate pretty healthy, also.

Yeah, when I would go with my Dad on weekends my eating usually was a lot better, actual real food on the menu, but it also had it’s fair share of desserts and 7-11 trips to get hot dogs or donuts. With my mom though, growing up there was hardly anything in the fridge, it was actually quite embarrassing to have friends come over and there was nothing in there.

She couldn’t really cook and I was a picky eater, so it was usually a lot of junk in the cabinets.

Look I’m going to be honest. Everyone, and I mean everyone has the best plans in the world until the screaming little poop machine comes sliding out of the vagina… And then you realize you don’t know shit, never knew shit and your plans are shit.

Your wife will figure this out long before you do, right around 7 month preg. You on the other hand, will still think you have this shit on lock. You don’t. None of us did.

There are about 3,865,456,764 other things besides your lifestyle and what kind of foods you will feed your kid to take into account before unleashing your seed into the world.

Trust me, your kid isn’t going to eat some bullshit yellow root grape seed extract, particularly if you want them to. The more you push, the more they will starve waiting for pizza and white pasta.

Got to learn to choose your battles.

haha, fair enough, you’re speaking from experience… then again, maybe you’re weak and cave in to your kids, which sounds like some of the same stuff many on here bitch about when people say parents no longer run the show… in the 50’s who ran things, the kids or the parents?

btw- I’m still with ya in relation to my first commment, just throwing more fuel on the fire

Thank you. I think most parents will agree. I know that before I had kids, I was going to be different and things would remain organized and structured; wholesome food and little television. I don’t know of many parents who haven’t reached the point of ‘have a candy and give my head some peace’. Children are relentless.
