Chicks Dig 5/3/1

Aha funny stuff, glad it’s drinkable also sounds like it agrees with you better. I find pre workouts give my stomach a hard time. Gluten and dairy as well but not as bad I eat that shit errr day.

If you’re going for cheap protonzzz, go the pea/rice mix. Cheaper than whey for me, I feel better on it.
This stuff is actually fairly decent bc it doesn’t have lactose in it, I know whey isolate says it doesn’t but I still feel awful with it
What does “feeling awful” mean?

Bloated? Cramps? Gas/belching? Tired? Brain-fog?
Bloated, awful gas, guaranteed one bathroom trip, two if taken with milk
Same exact situation with me man. The pea/rice has been great. Doesn’t taste delicious, but not bad. Like I can sit and sip on it. I’ve had cheap whey that’s tasted wayyyyy worse.

Best tasting cheap protein: wal mart 1.99 per pound chicken breast with tons of famous daves rib rub

Cycle 8 week 4
FLOOR PRESS w/ an added 30-40 pounds of chain weight
135x5
135x5
185x5
185x5
225x5
225x5

PUSHDOWNS
4x10
-SS-
PULL APARTS

DB FLY
3x10, then 1x10 pec deck cause my shoulder
-SS-
PULL APARTS

BANDED LATERAL RAISE
4x10

I have a busy next weekend coming up so I’m going to start my next cycle tomorrow and do my regular squatting

That sounds awful (Your reactions to whey). Did you try using LactAid or anything?

When I was playing around with some protein drink recipe, I finally reached my lactose threshold. Literally it was a bunch of nonfat dried milk mixed in with a bunch of actual milk with a bunch of ice cream and other stuff. It was pretty bad when I crossed it. The LactAid helped tremendously.

No I just got thru it lol

Cycle 9 week 1 day 1
SQUATS
240x3
270x3
305x6…belted, just couldn’t find a groove

PAUSED SQUATS
275x3 with a 2 count pause
275x 3 with a 2 count pause

HIGH BAR PAUSED SQUATS
225x3 2 count pause
225x3 2 count pause

DEFICIT DEADS
3x3 with 275

Workin the pauses n deficits. Right on.

Im using cheap protien as well

Six star whey protien plus - says it has amino acids and creatine - 20 bucks this seems like a good bang for your buck. Id reccomend.

Body fortress- a step down from The above but… lays the same claims -on sale for 12 bucks - I bought two!

The more I shop for myself the more I realize whey is a ripoff but for 20 bucks and great convenience…those two are hard to beat

How do you like the slingshot?

I have been hearing good things, but in my gym there seems to be the group of guys who still prefer floor press and close grip.

For clarity, I have never used one.
Looking back at my log I saw the most increase in my bench from high volume assistance (5x6-8) using the SS but I’ve gotten away from it and focused more on paused bench. I still really like it, you do whatever you like but personally I’m really glad I bought the reactive (blue) SS because you still have to really work to move the weight. I’ve only used the original (red) one once but I think it gives you too much pop off your chest. If nothing else, you get to the gym and you’re shoulders/elbows are feeling banged up you can throw it on and still hit something heavy.
So overall,
PROS:
-good for ME PERSONALLY for high rep assistance
-good for if you’re banged up
-you still feel like you’re moving the weight
-I know you don’t do speed work but it’s good for that also

CONS:
-if you get the red one I think it’s useless for someone who cant bench mid 3 to low 4 because of all the bottom pop
-some people say they can’t find a groove with it, I don’t have that problem

 • $50

OVERALL:
If you have the money and it’s burning a hole in your pocket, I would get one.
Thanks for the great review man. Wasn’t expecting that haha.

no problem dude, hope it helped

Got Paul Carter’s Base Building Manuel on ebook, just from skimming over it there is a ton of information. Should be a really good read/potential future program.

I have’nt pulled the trigger on Paul’s book, because I’m cheap, but it was the reason I held off buying beyound 531, so let me know what you think, I may still pick it up. By the way I had to put off going for 275x5 yesterday on front squats, because I started Pwniher’s ROM deads, and I had thought I could grab my one set of ROM deads and then go for my max front squat, LOL, Ya, after I blew my load on the deads, I could hardly do a body weight squat, let alone go for a PR, haha, I think I’ll give it a shot on Wed, but the way things are going I won’t be abe to get the fuckin vid uploaded anyway.

This may sound stupid, but if you get a minute, mabey you can lay it out step by step, how you upload a vid, it’s worked for me in the past, but trhe way I’m doing it, seems to be hit and miss, somtimes it works, then the next time it won’t, Thanks Chobbs

On the Base Building ebook, it’s really very interesting on how he looks at everything. I’ve only read it once but I take it alot of the work that you’re doing is in the 60-85% range using CAT techniques. His “mini cycles” that he layed out are really cool too, he has a mass phase one, the short-15 cycles, and 3 base building cycles for the bench/squat/dead. The book is mostly principles/concepts rather than this exercise for these sets x these reps.

Vid Upload (for off a phone): Click advanced, click insert video, choose your video, make sure you type something in the box. If anyone cares or you haven’t heard, if you have an IPhone get the new update and don’t use Safari because some hackers got in their system.

Edit: The more I dig into the book the more I just want to run a 6 week phase of base building just to get me through the next 6 weeks of cutting.

I started my own you tube channel to upload my vids to, and when I did that, the video I was having so much trouble with, magicaly apeared on my log. I have no fucking idea how that happened, but I posted the link on my log for my new you tube channel, and when I hit submit, the video was there. If I had hair I’d pull it out, what a round about way of acomplishing what I was after–FUCK, thanks for the help !
