I wanted to do some triceps but it was too cold and I was starting to lose feeling in my fingertips. Overall a GREAT session for having my balls feel like they were bb’s.
It’s -9 degrees at my house with a -40 degree wind chill so idk if I’m gonna be able to lift in the garage today
Nah man that’s okay, I mean I’m sure big Z would forgive you…

Goddammit I won’t ever catch your bench lol

I propose a trade I will give up my bench and OHP in exchange for your squat/DL and BF %

I roughed it today…honestly other than fingers and toes and wasn’t too bad

Same. It was -10 here. Between sets I was digging out my car from the snow. My intraworkout shake froze before I finished with it.
Probably should get some good gloves, wool socks and good boots though. And a hat if you weren’t using one. It’s not going to be much warmer tomorrow, single digits at best.

LOL I’m pretty sure our Squats and Deads are similar too. Dammit

-2 here. -25 windchill . 15 plus inches snow in 2 days…here in Michigan. I feel lucky that I have an extra room to train in vs. The garage.
Btw the garage was made in 1917 so it’s not exactly very efficient at keeping heat in lol
chobbs wrote: @lorez oh I had one on of everything that you listed. What’s your Intra workout shake look like?
Then you need better stuff, lol. Fingers and toes really shouldn’t be getting cold. I decided this year to upgrade most of my cold weather stuff and it’s definitely made a difference. I’m pretty sure I outlined everything in my log a few weeks back if you’re curious.
FWIW, I lifted with the garage door open and didn’t get cold at all.

I’m in the same boat as you as I’m weary of gimmicks. I just roll the outside of my quad (IT band maybe?) and then sit on my butt place my right ankle on my left knee and roll my glute until there aren’t any sore spots anymore then switch. I normally just roll before I squat and deadlift as I feel like it helps my mobility and low back tightness the next day. I used to not do anything to warm up though so it might be that any small thing that I started doing would help.
I use a foam roller all the time and I have had the privilege to work with multiple Division 1 athletes all of whom used foam rollers. Almost all of them had decreased joint pain and increased ROM which led to more success in the weight room and on the field. Foam rolling, aka myofascial release, will help mobilize muscle tissue, which has a couple benefits: greater range of motion and increased stability throughout range of motion WITHOUT negatively impacting force production being the main ones. So, if you’re hips/shoulders are more mobile/stable and can handle larger loads, your PR’s will fall like dominos.

Now that’s dedication - lifting in your garage in this shitty weather. I was raised in the U.P. of Michigan, and I’m not that crazy lol…
