I am trying to convince my friend to train his legs, too, and squat etc.
So I figured if you guys have some nice photos with big upper body but weak legs, so I could show him and motivate him to train his legs. I’ve told him too that he should train his legs to get bigger upperbody, but he is thinking about roids, so I need some serious motivational photos
There are 2 guys at my gym with little girl legs but large upper bodies. I wish I could get a camera in there, but that’s just creepy.
Obligatory picture of Stallone included. Not that he’s incredibly massive but he’s very much a chicken legged guy.
Then again he did pretty well for himself so I’m not sure this will help your argument.
While I don’t think guys who don’t compete need to really obsess about blowing up their hams and quads to bodybuilding proportions, having a ridiculous imbalance just looks silly.
My legs lagged my upper body by judging standards when I first stepped onstage, but I certainly didn’t look like an idiot wearing shorts and no shirt. It’s funny, because I’ve focused so much the last few years on bringing up my legs, but to be honest, I preferred how my clothing looks as an average guy with a little less bulk on my legs and ass.
I think it’s the illusion of how a smaller lower body will make an upper body appear larger that often contributes to the epidemic (along with lower body training just requiring a hell of a lot of effort).

True
In addition upper body is inherently more noticeable and of more interest to the general public, and usually more exposed

whereas in a tshirt hey there mr biceps been pumping up? (or some other inane comment) is
btw dunno why sly has been singled out neither pic remotely proves your point also great job pn finding one of him fully clothed to try and do this lol hes also well into his 60s in that pic

^THIS.
A lot of criticism goes to Arnold’s lack of comparative leg mass.
But I think Arnold had a really nice overall leg shape. Slender, but good sweep where it counted.

agreed
his legs looked great and suited his physique imo
they were still massive as well for a very lean 6’2 guy

Same here, been meaning to take a picture for a while. One of the upper body whores in my gym just started squatting. Pecs and shoulders so tight he can barely do hold the bar, let alone squat it down to the ground
For the record, the second picture that Iron Made posted, the first one in that set, is a dude who was serving in the military and had some major thing happen to his legs overseas. I don’t remember the whole story but fyi.

He is not 6’2 for shit, not even close.
I met in person at Planet Hollywood once, I am 6’1 and he is easily 2 inches shorter than me.

You know that people shrink as they get older?
A man at 25 will not be the same height at 60.
That doesn’t mean anyone lied about his height.

Exactly. Especially someone who spent a considerable amount of time under heavy iron.
I blame the media.
