GV, wasn’t able to make it. The meet was over in Nebraska. Beau still unracks the weight himself. He said it helps him stay tight. They let him pull 770 for a double at the end of the meet. The big guy will be 49 in a couple of days.
There’s talk that we will put on another SPF meet in the fall. Jesse was impressed with our turnout for the first and said he’d be at our next one. I’m gearing my training for Nov UPA in DBQ but I would do a hometown meet instead and save $500+ on travel, food, etc.
Saving money is always nice. Beau is a beast. His strength and perseverance are inspiring. You have awesome lifters around you, must be great.

I like paused deads. They seem to help groove your form as long as you don’t go too heavy.

Off to Dubuque tomorrow. The is a UPA meet. We have several guys lifting on Saturday and Sunday. Hope to see Eric Lilliebridge make a run at 1000 raw squat.
No training this weekend. Went to UPA meet to help teammates and see some friends. 181 and 220 teammates had big Saturdays with big PRs. Had a couple more lifters on Sunday with more PRs.
Helped teammates, met up with old friends, ate some great food. I’ll call that a good weekend. Saturday was to be squat deload anyway. I’ll do the work sets on bench after I block pull on Tuesday.
My meet schedule may have changed. I was planning on November UPA. Ran into Jim Grandick at the meet. He and the Big Iron crew may be putting on a SPF meet in late Sept or October at Shawn Frankl’s gym in Sioux City, Iowa. They came over and supported our meet. We owe them the same.

Nicks Weite was in town and did some deadlift and bench work. He’s prepping for his world’s comp.
Kids all came over and we had a steak fry and sweet corn boil. The Brinkman handled it like a champ. My wife’s tater salad was awesome, as usual. The watermelon was the icing on the cake. I am feeling the onset of a food coma.
