Week 4 results not so hot as expected. up 2.5lbs from last week. Plan on taking it easy today. Changing it up for week 5!
I’ve found that you need to be extra strict on your mon-tue for this diet to work. But still pretty strict on the other days.
I’m down 2lb and 0.5" just as expected.
Actually, I did the best Mon & Tue. Those are easy days for me since I have the same thing for all 5 meals throughout the day! (Without going into too much detail)
But, i’m going to make a minor modification to try something different with my cardio!

i dont think i have made much progress at all this week. We’ll see tommorrow. I have been following to a T though so i am hopeful
turns out i was down 4 lbs from the week before…the week before i actually had to weigh myself on a different scale and i was the same weight as after week two…so i assume i probably lost some of those 4 in week 3 and some in week 4…either way, down 4 lbs.
Well, if you know the specs of the diet, let’s say that I had a bit too much of a certain macronutrient. It was stupid too, because I knew the cheat day was so close, but we went out to dinner for my brother’s birthday to traditional Italian restaurant…need I say more? Also, I ended up doing cardio on an old bike in my parents’ basement, and I just wasn’t feeling it. Since I’ll be at school all this week, I know I can drop at least 2 lbs.
Hey Guys…I have not posted any comments before but I have been part of the test group and I just have to say this diet is the BOMB!! It is fantastic and it works…to date I have lost almost 4 inches off my waist and much more all over…amazing really!!
I have to echo the sentiments that this diet is awesome! Once past the initial phase, this has been incredibly easy with all the variety. I hope everyone is reaping the rewards of all this hard work [or lack thereof].
Joel didn’t give any specifics as to when the Test Group would be ending, or exactly how long the diet was, … so, I was just wondering how long everybody planned on staying on it?

I’m staying on this diet as long as I can. It is a very good way to diet while keeping performance up. Technically, I’m off it since late yesterday as I’ve been sick and my diet is bread and pediatlyte. Friggin a.

Pedialyte? Are you 5 years old?
Seriously though why do you have to go off of the diet just because you are sick? Who told you that bread and pedialyte is good for getting over being sick?
Oh I didn’t realize that … I planned on coming off it after this week, but just for Joel, I’ll stay 8 weeks until May 28th. This as a courtesy to Joel for the help to lose weight.

I would think if you lost all the weight you need to, then it would be ok to come off it. No reason to keep losing if you don’t need to. Although if you only needed to lose enough weight to be on this for such a short period maybe you didn’t need the diet afterall.
Yeah, here’s my thing … I’m an FFB according to Chris Shugart’s definition. And in the first rule of the FFB handbook (http://www.T-Nation.com/findArticle.do?article=05-118-diet)
he says that “First and foremost, the FFB shouldn’t bulk until after he’s ripped.”
So, I’ve been trying to get my bodyfat low enough to start a “painfully slow, clean bulk.” I think I’m at the point where I’m going to end up losing more muscle than fat now, and I’m starting to lose strength which I’m concerned about so I want to get off the diet.
I’ve lost approx. 15 pounds while keeping strength, but now that’s going so I feel like its time to come back to around maintenance calories…

I’m not sure if you were joking above, but pedialyte is actually a very good product for use in people who are sick and can’t tolerate whole foods. It has a lot of electrolytes (more than gatorade i think) so it can replace those that are lost due to either diarrhea or vomiting. I’ve actually heard it may be pretty decent for preventing hangovers too.
Well last week was not my best week. I traveled out of town for a wedding and that messed up my workout schedule so i didn’t get all of them in, cardio either. I used saturday (the day of the wedding) as my DAY, so this week i changed things just a tad.
Weighed this AM and had gone down a little bit which is reassuring to me that I am still on track. Looking forward to this weekends weight in and measurements

Well if anythig you’re a success story for the diet. You were able to lose that much weight in just a little over 4 weeks. If you’re truely concerned about losing LBM at this point, I don’t think I would continue with the diet.
Although- since strength losses are minimzed on this diet, it would be interesting to see how low a BF% you could go- don’t you think? I know I’m curious to how low I can go and what I’ll look like under my present level.
