Depending on your limits, one that I have used a couple times this week is a pudding blend. I get a box of sugar free fat free Jello pudding, mix with skim milk and a scoop of Metabolic Drive. The pudding is high in sodium, but it’s unbelievably good. Pistachio nut/Vanilla protein is the best.

Strangely enough I haven’t had any cravings!!
Gained 2,75 lbs last week but lost 0.25" of my waist. I look leaner even though the caliper measurements haven’t changed.
Down 7,25lbs and 2,25" on my waist so far.
I like this “Westside” style of dieting ![]()

Hey there Mr. Moose.
If I remember right, you were doing some Westside-style training to lose some bodyfat a while ago, correct? Are you still keeping to that while on this diet? Are you bumping some of the volume and intensity down a bit? Just curious. Thanks and good work!!
Yep, thats right.
I’ve cut down to three day per week for a while now and I go by feel, sometimes I split upper and lower body for a while then whole body workouts for a while. Lately I’ve been doing wholebody but it’s been a bit hard when restricting the calories. I think I’ll stick with half body now while dieting. So far so good with the diet, lost 3" on my waist, haven’t checked my weight for a few days, this past week have been the celebration of the Thai new year. Will go to the gym tomorrow to check the weight again and work out aswell of course ![]()

I might be wrong, but I thought milk was out of the question? Even if it’s on the list, I wouldn’t drink it while cutting. The pistachio mix is good though, I use it like this
8-10 oz water
2-3 ice cubes
2 scoops vanilla Metabolic Drive
2-3 tablespoons of ff cottage cheese
jello pistachio mix to taste
blend!
I also like using bananna Metabolic Drive with bananna jello mix, or with butterscotch mix!

Speaking of workouts, for those of you who are doing the WSP, how are you finding the difficulty level? This week, day 1 was easier, but in part due to only doing six exercises. Today’s 15-rep sets are killing me though! It didn’t look so bad, so I did pull-ups instead of pull-downs, and that really took it out of me. I had to stop halfway through because I was feeling really dizzy and nauseous. The caloric restriction makes WSP a truly insane program. I have a busy day ahead of me, so I have to save the second half of day 3 for tonight after my last class.

Why wouldn’t you drink skim milk while cutting?

I am going to attempt day 3 today, though i didn’t sleep at all last night and had to be to work at 6:15 this morning. I’ll probably pop a Spike and cross my fingers that I can make it through

I love milk, oh how I miss it. It’s one of my favorite things to eat/drink, and I love to drink a gallon per day while bulking.
However, I have read more than one article that goes in depth for the reasons why you shouldn’t drink any type of milk while cutting. Sugar comes to mind, but that’s just me. I don’t have and of the pieces to reference, but I guess it’s just been beat into my head!

Yeah, there’s sugar in it, but I thought that what was being discussed was PWO shakes, which is when you want some sugar. I know milk is out when you’re strictly low-carbing, but if you’re not I don’t see why you would avoid milk. It’s pretty nutrient dense, and in some studies, dairy calcium has been shown to help with fat loss. Here’s a review of those:

Day one was easier, I thought Chad was giving us a break, but the burpees and the squats on day three kicked my ass!

I almost didn’t make it through the D part of Day 3. The hamstring curls and squats nearly killed me. And I wasn’t using that much weight. The reduced cals is taking a toll.
I’m sticking with it though. This week was perfect, eating wise, since I’m on a business trip. It hasn’t been hard to maintain the diet at all.
Tell me about it! I was squatting a pathetic amount of weight. I did set PRs on pronated pull-ups and decline DB bench though. The latter was probably because I quit all sorts of pressing for a long due to shoulder problems; but this was definitely the first time I had done 15 overhand pull-ups, and I haven’t lost enough weight for my being lighter to be the only cause. Unforunately that was to failure, so I had to use the assisted machine for the other two sets.
Good luck to all with day 5. I’m extremely unfamiliar with these high rep methods, so I have no idea what to expect.
I would expect pain. Over and over and over…pain.
I am doing the workout tonight and will start up with the caffeine shortly.

anyone else feel like they are gaining weight the past couple of days?

Yes.
I’ve really been hitting the HIIT hard, and I can I honestly feel like my belly fat is melting off. Scale hasn’t been moving much, but I seem to lose weight whenever I don’t hop on the scale for a few days, so I’m waiting until Sunday before I check again.
Day 5 wasn’t bad at all! I could feel the lactic acid building up, and my muscles are tired as hell, but I didn’t get the dizziness or nausea I had been having.

I really look more bloated. I didnt notice any progression physically this week. Even if I increased my cardio sessions.

I did weeks one and two, but the workouts took way too long, and I was way too sore afterwards, so I decided to drop it.
The last three weeks sure went by quickly
gained a pound but lost .5 of the waist so still some progress. You gotta love today!
