Yeah. It is funny how 500# carries some sort of mystical significance. Unless, of course, you can already do more than that.
Soft tissue work for the elbow? I give it a good rubdown every now and then. Aside from that, I think Zerchers are as close as I get…lol. I think they just make it numb, though.
Thanks for the white, DCA. Interesting thing watching that rep. It looked to me like the sticking point (weak spot) was well above parallel, not below it!? Maybe I have been reading myself wrong.

Thanks. Funny thing, it is. I keep thinking that, once I DL 500, Bench 350 and squat 400, I will feel good about it…and I will. Then, I will meander over to Meat’s log, Bunny’s, Eco’s, Pete’s, hel’s, etc…, etc… and that will go away
Really hard not to push it with this peer group…
I am, tentatively, planning to do deficit deads on Thursday. I have no idea what weight to plan for, though. Can input on how much of a difference it makes (capacity lost) I could expect from just using 35’s as a platform?

Personally - I’d start with half of your regular DL max and work up. Treat the first couple as a warm-up while getting a feel for how the deficit affects your body mechanics.

That’s where I get it too. It’s a changeover point from using the hams primarily to using the quads primarily. The closer my stance the more it shows up how 2-phased the squat is for me. The mid thigh-height zerchers really work that point for me and speed up the transition so I don’t stall coming out of the hole. I think that’s why forcing the knees out helps too, it keeps your ass engaged in the lift and kicks you through that point.

Thanks soldog. I will do just that. I really need some umphh off the floor.

That makes complete sense, especially in light of the disparity between my DLs and squats. I think if I drop my Zercher setup 1 more pin I will be right in that zone. Might need to try some Andersons as well. Though, the thought of them inspires fear.
I think I am finally tanking. I have been 95% sure that have been suffering from Low T, for the past 18-24 months, with it gradually getting worse. It started with my developing memory and concentration issues. At this point, I show every symptom, to some degree, with the apparent exception of loss of body hair (the one I wouldn’t mind having).
During the 1st quarter of the year, I had my GP do some blood work and my TT came back at 346 (240-950 range) and FT was 15 (9-31) range. I was in range but, as I said, am 95% sure that it is far too low for me.
Besides the worsening issues with memory and concentration, I have lost a lot of my intensity, in the weight room and out (yeah, hard to believe), am putting on bad weight with a level of exercise and caloric intake that should not be causing it, don’t seem to be putting on any new size, despite the workout intensity, feel blah most of the time, low energy, etc…, etc…
The Alpha Male actually helped a bit. I felt a bit more energy, grrr and even power. My joints didn’t ache so damned much and I recovered quicker. I am off of it right now, though, as I have an appointment with the only Endo in town next Wednesday. I want my levels to be true. I can really tell that I am off of it and it really showed me how off I am.
I REALLY hope that this guy is on the ball. If not, I have pretty much one shot at a Dr. in OKC. Fail that, and I am going to have to figure out a way to do it on my own.
Anyway…enough whining. I just needed to vent a bit.
You’ve been operating at 90% in your lifts for a while now in just about every session and maxing often. I’m not saying that you don’t have low T, but that you’ve been pounding yourself pretty hard the last while and you might have overreached a bit.

DCA- I think you are right…especially when it comes to bench. I need to quit being so fearful of losing strength (as I have had occur with my bench in the past) and do what I know is right.
That aside, one of the things that prodded me towards lifting heavy again is its purported effects on T levels (heavier weights, higher intensity, more T). During the same timeframe I have altered my diet to lessen sugar, soy and processed foods, while adding good fats, brocolli/cauliflower to lower SHBG and any other trick I could come up with (trib, ZMA, etc…). The end result was that the symptoms that originally told me I have an issue have gotten worse. The only thing that seemed to help was the Alpha Male, as, like I said, my power, energy and grrr did go up. I still did not feel normal, however, and my cognitive/memory issues weren’t affected by it. Hell, believe it or not, about 8 years ago, I tested for and qualified for Mensa (with points to spare). Right now I don’t think I could get into Densa (yes, bad attempt at humor).
The downside is I live in the middle of OK and unless I am really, really lucky, and one of these docs is up on his trade, I don’t have a lot of options. My hope is that the root cause is something other than T and that the T issues are merely a symptom.
Either way, the train will keep chugging. It would just be nice, though, if the engine was a bit more fine tuned
Just reading thru some stuff. Do some reading on Candida. Maybe you are infected. That is supposed to cause a lot of your symptoms. Also, are you taking any meds, statins. Them sombitches can be a pox on the universe!

Thanks, j-willy. The only “Candida” I ever heard of was the song. At least I think that was the name.
That is an interesting read. I might have to check into that.
Looks like probiotics will combat it. As my wife takes them, that might be the easiest way to test the theory.
Nope. No meds. Is was on Lisinopril, when my BP was up. I read that it will lower free T. I have been off of it for over a year, though.

Kefir or kombucha and glutamine for gut health. Vitamin D if you’re not getting enough sunlight. Vit D has positive cascading hormonal effects and nearly everyone is deficient in it.

Never heard of the 1st two. I have Glutamine and vit. D at home, but haven’t been taking them. May as well add them to the mix. At this rate, I won’t have any room for food…

I agree. Finish up the week and go through the motion next week. Think of it as a step back to get a flying start forward.
