Charlie Horses With GHR

Hey guys.

I get charliehorses in my calves whenever I try to do machine leg curls or glute ham raises. I have no idea what causes this or how to fix it. I know the calves assist in knee flexion. Could the problem be overall weakness in the calves? I know other people with the same problem, but no one seems to know what causes it. It’s like a lump/spasm appears an inch below my knee.

Drink more water, get more potassium and calcium, and do a lot of static stretching for your calves.

I get the same thing occasionally, and it is almost always do to excessive tightness in the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles.

Thanks. I will try some static stretching and attempt to take in more water, potassium and calcium and see if it makes a difference.
