For those of you who have read his book(s) or are familiar with his work. I know Charlie Francis recommends quite a bit of aerobic work as part of his sprint training. Anyone know what a sample aerobic schedule of his would look like?
Charlie doesn’t do aerobic work like you are thinking. His athletes never run more than 1500 meters at one time. Although, on “Tempo” days, they will do numerous runs (100m-400m) for a total of 1500-2500m for the entire workout. He also uses a variety of ab exercises with the medicine ball and bodyweight exercises for a warm-up or in between runs. You should get his book “Training for Speed.” It’s quite good.
Hey thanks Nate…that’s kind’ve along the lines of what I thought his recommendations were. I actually ordered that book last year…I cant remember where I ordered it from but it was on back order and I never received it. Where did you get yours?
I ordered mine through Amazon.com. It took a few weeks to receive, but I had no problem with the order.
