Why is Live hating on Hugh Jackman? Is it because he is Australian and posts his lifts in kilograms, thereby causing Live’s head to hurt?
Burn.
Though you notice you put “light” instead of “weight”. If I was live I would pick up on that.
I suck at benching, but I’ve only ever seen 2 people in my gym bench 315 and they were pretty big guys. Im always surprised how many guys are benching 3 plates here. My friend claims he benches 3 platesbut he only goes half way down, since his triceps have all the strength. I wonder how many others are doing this.

No one on this thread I hope. If you do, speak up no wso you can get what you deserve. That halfway down crap is bullshit. I know it’s gonna happen every time I see a douchebag who’s not big load the bar up. Goes double for the squat rack. I can’t help it, I actually wait to see if they’re gonna do a power curtsy and they always do.
( I’m still working on finishing the 4/5/6 )
Keep at it Luke. I completed the 4/5/6 milestone when I was in my 20s and now I’m 46 and can still do the 4/5/6 trifecta. I think is a great goal for a natty lifter and displays all-around strength.

you bodybuilding guys… it’s supposed to be “can you squat/bench/pull/400/300/450”
as for me… i’m 675/520/675 at the moment. i’m hoping when i actually test my true max’s it’s more like 700/530/700.
of course i have the videos whoring these lifts if need be:)
Thanks marauder! I’ve checked out your vids. You are a beast. And thanks for “correcting” all on the proper sequence when refering to the lifts. As for me, all time best Squat 590 lbs. BP 420 lbs DL 615. Lifetime drug-free. Raw. No wraps, no suits. Full, complete lifts. Those aren’t great numbers for someone who weighs 235 and there are so many on this forum who can crush those lifts, like yourself and dathinblueline just to name 2. I take pride in not having my strength decrease too much in a 20 year span of time. Although, in spite of efforts to stop it the munbers have atarted a slow, steady decline over the past two years.

are you kidding me??? your numbers are awesome. especially for totally raw, drug free and only 235. i’m sitting at 275 right now. i like how humble you are… and not to take anything from dathinblueline… his squats are on a machine. big difference.
i made a decision last night to slowly cut to get down to the 242 class. i wanna get the bodyfat under control…and maybe throw some bodybuilding back into the mix. i think it would be cool to hit a powerlifting meet and then hit a bodybuilding meet.
anyway, if your numbers are dropping, i would look into getting some bloodwork to see where your hormone levels are at. It may be time to look into HRT.

Thanks for the kind words. Don’t misundestand me, I’m proud of my lifts, but next to “real” powerlifters in my weight class they are lacking. Good luck in coming down to 242. You ought to do well in that weight-class.
Back in March I did have my blood work done, and according to my doc my hormone levels are all normal for a guy my age. It’s the “guy my age” caveat I don’t like. I don’t consider myself “normal” for a guy my age". Frankly, I’m pretty ignorant about HRT and other chemical aids, and I’m a chicken-shit about them and drug use in general. Again, thanks for the “props” and good luck with your lifting and bodybuilding goals.
I dont know man, but I work out alone in a packed commercial gym, Id feel like a tool if I asked someone to video tape me benching. As many people have said 300lbs isnt overly impressive, its still a feat, but certainly not eye popping, so in turn Id feel a little weird video taping a press, that maybe really shouldnt be forever recorded on videotape.
If you have to lie about benching 300 you need to off yourself.
Around 2000 I benched 295 for 9 reps. Around 2003 I squatted 315 for 15 reps. Last year I deadlifted 564 in the racks off the first pin for 4 reps - not a full dead, but its what I could do.
365/ 545/ 635- currently 6-3/ 265 pounds, raw, drug free at 43 years of age and just under 2 years of “serious (for me anyhow)” training under the watchful eye of Marauder Meat… the Boss.
Some strong dudes here, just like to bring back up the point of strength levels, it definitely must be far rarer to see in the UK for a start, as far as i know we don’t have too many huge powerlifting warehouse style gyms.
In my University gym we have a guy (think hes 22 now, WR total as junior 21?) 397/507/705… case in point though when i saw him benching 140kg for reps that is by far and away the most I have seen benched so far in the 2 years I have been training, I have yet to actually see someone deadlift above around 180kg whilst I have been in the gym, though I have seen insane bent over rows that indicate 200+ deadlifts. Squatting wise the most I have seen is still about 150kg or so… as you can see it could be easy to trick yourself into thinking there is no one moving these figures when obviously there is quite a few, I have lots of years work to do
Edit: Obviously genetics matter for specialities but I’d say bench of 300 is surely the rarest of the 3 figures in this thread, the rest I could see myself reaching (relitively) soon
