Calcium Channel Blockers?

Hi. I just started taking calcium channel blockers for some severe reynaud’s syndrome. They supposedly dialate your blood vessels (relax their walls). But I’m feeling unable to even pick up a weight!

Does anyone have experience with this? Is it the calcium channel blockers or do you think they are unrelated. I could just be wiped out from lack of sleep from the pain too…

This post doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. I know calcim plays an important role in the contraction and relaxation of muscles. To be short it has something to do with troponin and tropomyosin allowing actin and myosin to bind together in the muscle causing contraction.

A “calcium channel blocker” might be messing with how your body uses calcium within the muscle, causing a lesser contraction. But if you are in pain and not sleeping than shame on you, don’t blame the “blockers” lol

Side effects and cautions

Side effects of calcium channel blockers include constipation, headache, rapid heartbeat, rash, drowsiness, flushing, nausea, and swelling in the feet and lower legs.

Certain calcium channel blockers interact with grapefruit products. Don’t take these medications with grapefruit or grapefruit juice because they can reduce your liver’s ability to eliminate calcium channel blockers from your body, allowing the medications to build up in your body.

And;

Nervous System: The most common are headache and dizziness or lightheadedness (rapid blood pressure fall). Others include asthenia, paresthesia, somnolence, fatigue, nervousness, giddiness and insomnia.

Yeah, I read the online side effects. I was just wondering if someone had direct experience.

And the reason I’m not sleeping is pain - can’t help it.
