Long story short went into A-Fib 3 months ago. Was prescribed verapamil. Ever since I’ve felt like I get out of breath quickly while exercising. Like my lungs give out before the muscle will. Coincidence, maybe my cardio has been lacking. But am in good shape. 230lb at about 10-11% bf. Talked to cardiologist and he changed med to diltiazem. Just wanted to see if anybody else had experience with these and how it affects athletes.
I can’t take calcium channel blockers, I get the exact same symptoms as when taking too much vitamin D, which pushes calcium out of cells and into the bloodstream.
Interesting. I asked doc about taking it with vitamin D, as I read they could interact. He said no correlation that he’s heard
I take a CCB(Amlodipine) and an ARB(Telmisartan). Never had any sides. Are you taking it at bedtime? I read somewhere, that most BP meds are best taken at night.
That’s a good idea. I’ll try the bedtime approach. Tried to get doc to prescribe telemisartin after all the good I’ve heard but he said because of afib rather prescribe the CCB
