6’ = 72’’
72’’ * 10lbs = 720lbs
Someone’s calculation is off.

I’ve had a big bubbly ass my entire life, dude you get used to it, and save money on belts.
I’m not gonna lie, I check out my butt all the time. If my ass was on a girl I’d be pretty into it. You know, minus all the hair and stuff.[/quote]
I concur, I have an awesome ass.

rofl, I think the same exact thing sometimes. you would have to minus the lb of hair accumulated on my lower body over the years though…

I see what you did there…
Rather obviously, for same proportions, an added inch does not add the same amount of pounds at all heights.
Someone providing a rule of thumb appropriate for the 6 foot range (though I would disagree on the particular figure) is not saying that it is true for the 0-1" increment, the 1-2" increment, etc. But only for the 72-73" increment and increments similar to that.
Guys don’t get your panties in a bunch. It is a rough guide to say an inch difference in typical male heights could be a difference of anywhere between 5 and 15 lbs depending on bone structure and a whole host of other factors.
For instance my friend who is 5’5" is 170lbs and has ~17inch arms, similar proportions to myself. Add 4 inches of height and ~40lbs and you get (me) at similar proportions.
It is a very rough obviously.
I’m sorry you didn’t understand my post. (If you had, you wouldn’t have replied as you did.)
Let’s consider the simplest case of statues: that is to say, figures of men. We will say the statue is made of material equally dense as man and the statue, at 6 feet, is of a muscular 220 lb man.
What then will it weigh at 5’11"?
Weight in this instance being proportional to the cube of the height, it will weigh 71/72 x 71/72 x 71/72 as much, which is 95.8% as much, or 211 lb.
Thus, that inch in height was worth 9 lb.
Now someone like you may come around and say “that’s bad maths” because at 72" not every inch contributes 9 lb, obviously, or the statue would weigh 648 lb.
But that is because you do not understand that each increment contributes a different amount, and the 9 lb refers only to increments right around the 72" reference point.
Let’s consider, what if the statue is 1 foot tall?
Then it weighs 12/72 x 12/72 x 12/72 as much, or 1/216th as much. Roughly speaking, it weighs 1 lb.
How about if it is 1 foot, 1 inch?
Then it weighs 13/72 x 13/72 x 13/72 as much as the 6 foot statue, or 1/170th as much. It weighs about 1.3 lb.
So that inch contributes only about 0.3 lb.
Clearer?
Thanks!
I should have fleshed out my original post on that. I had thought of giving a calculation to show it, which makes it much easier to see, but on the spur of the moment decided not to. Should have.
It’s not an intuitive thing: the original objection does seem to make sense until looked at in detail.
the 0 line for that rule of thumb is 6’ft 200 pounds or 72 inches 200 pounds
so then for every inch you go down, you minus 10 poun ds and every inch you go up you add 10 pounds and you are supposed to equal the same proportions as 72 inches 200 pounds.

I’ve got a big butt problems myself. I’m 5’11 and I weigh 217lbs. I get the feeling that some of you guys on here “think” you have big butts but really don’t. This is a big butt:

Really? This was your first post on the forums? Even in the fading months, 09ers continue to depress =[
Gee… thanks for the welcome. ![]()
Yes, that was my first post. Probably because its a problem/topic I can relate to? What’s wrong with that? Isn’t that what these forums are for??? What are you… the forum troll or something?

What size pants are you blowing the back out of? Because at 217lbs, I just don’t see it really being a problem for you.

Lol, I currently wear size 36 jeans. They’re loose around the waist but since my thighs/butt are large I’m forced to wear them (If my lower region was smaller, I’d probably be wearing 34s or 32s). My butt just sticks out too much. It looks even worse if I wear longer shirts.

I’ll be upgrading from my 38’s to 40’s soon (suit pants) so you have a few inches to go. But assuming you aren’t full of shit, yeah you have a decent sized ass for sure.
But I’m also not going to sit here and claim to be the leanest guy in the world.

Really? Did you look at the picture? His ass doesn’t look big at all.
Trust me, I’m an expert in men’s asses.
But really, his ass doesn’t look big.
