In my experience chicks dig a big powerful ass.

Has anyone had luck in shrinking these muscles down a bit while continuing to build upper body size?

I’m surprised you haven’t been flamed yet for these posts so let me do the honors. You’re 5’10", 205 lbs and your talking about "shrinking your only muscle down that you seemed to have made some decent progress with AND your posting this on a bodybuilding forum???
How about thinking like someone who actually wants to bodybuild and focus on building up your legs and upper body instead of talking about shrinking the one muscle you’ve done anything with? Why the fuck would you want to try and shrink any muscle after all the hard work you put in? That is ass backwards thinking.
I just don’t understand this mentality. Let’s level set here while we’re at it. Your glutes, although well developed (just going by measurement) really aren’t that big. Neither is the rest of you.
Now get lifting…

Butt and legs too big? Blasphemy!
If you can’t find clothes that fit well straight off the rack, you’re doing it right.

What she said!
But if you still don’t agree:

I have ~2 inches difference between my thighs and my waist, thank Christ for low rise jeans.

This is a bodybuilding forum. Either work on building your upper body up to match your Coleman-esque legs and ass (which are apparently so big that pants are out of the question).
Last I measured my quads they were 30" (may be a little bigger now) yet I don’t seem to have all of these problems with clothes. Maybe some of you should try shopping in the ADULT MALE section of the store.
yeah yeah, easy to say when all you wear are pj’s and scrubs all day
HEY!..I wear UA shorts also.
But you’re right…my closet isn’t exactly pimped out. I did just buy a suit though, but most of the time, I am in shorts, scrubs or sweat pants.
UA?
Under Armour. I should be a spokesman for the fucking company.
I wear UA stuff too.
maybe ur legs arent too big but ur upper bodys too small. Think bout that!
Professor X wrote:
It should be well accepted by now that if you lift weights, even if you have a 34" waist, eventually you may need to buy pants a couple of sizes bigger or more to compensate for leg mass.
Hell, I’m a total noob, and I noticed some issues when my waist has shrunk two inches but my ass has expanded.
But if you’re really sweating the lower body weight, just stop taking the estrogen supps. Duh.

dude, girls dig big butts like we dig theirs, duhhh!! I built up a big(er) butt, and my girl can’t take her eyes off it. and if a size 36 is too big for you, your ass aint too big dude. just work on building up a bigger upper body, but your legs and butt cant ever be tooo big…can they?
x2
We girls dig big butts.

My upper body is developing quite nicely. My arms are at minimum measuring 17.25 lately after days off from training, my delts are growing nicely, etc. I feel I am in proportion to my thigh size for the most part.
My mentality just recently changed from trying to grow the most muscle no matter where it is located (ass) to using a more restrained approach and trying to have a more balanced and pleasing physique. I don’t know what is so hard to understand about that.
Buying bigger pants is not the issue. Obviously I could get pants that fit. I also don’t want to have to buy huge long shirts to cover up my protruding backside.

Just like one of my little bros. He got the upper body from our father’s side of the family, and the lower from our mother’s side (sorry mum, your ass is huge! Ha! Ha!)
i scrolled through 3 pages looking for man ass and nothing, i’m out of here, back to the tilf thread, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggg.

Actually sir I do want to “body build”. I want to shape my body into something that is pleasing to me. To me long term that would be around 220 at a true 8-10% bf with proportions fit to my liking. Only muscle I have made decent progress on? Get real man. I want to shrink it because it looks bad.
Really aren’t that big? At my height proportionally I am not far off from your size big Rando.
BTW, today I told my wife that I was stopping squatting and dead lifting to tone down the assfactor and she said thank god!
I’m a tall guy, so the proportions are a little different for me (6ft2) but I understand that clothing can be ridiculous to find. I got 29" legs and most jeans you’d consider “fashionable” stopped fitting 3"s ago. But honestly, I don’t give a fuck if all I can ever wear is elastic waist sweats and stretchy shorts because I would only want my legs to get bigger, never ever ever ever smaller. I’m talking Jay Cutler 36 inchers.
Girls do totally dig big butts.

Finally someone said something. without pics this is useless. and i sure as shit know your butt and thighs arent big enough let alone too big.

First off, you got a little ways to go to catch up with me. I’m up to 246 lbs at 6’1" so I’m not sure why you think you’re so close. And I’m also not getting on a bodybuilding forum talking about how huge my ass is and how I need to shrink it. So yeah, I said it. You really ain’t that big. And I’m not saying I am either.
And adjusting exercise selections to accentuate other body parts and make them larger is a much different strategy than “shrinking” a muscle. You’re still a douche for reiterating once again how you want to “shrink” your ass because it looks bad. Once again, it aint that freaking big. It’s just the rest of you is smaller. Make the rest of you grow and you’ll be good to go.
I bet if you read through the last few posts on here all saying the same thing you may actually get what many of us our saying; it’s called reading comprehension, you should look into it. Please stop posting that you want to shrink your ass, nobody wants to catch the ghey.
“This thread is worthless without pics.”
dude seriously. just take a picture of your ass
