Yeah Dave that seems to be the case…Surprises the hell out of me to be a 100% honest.

Thanks… but I really want to get my deadlifts to a respectful number :frowning:

Deload…

Standing OHP : 3 x 10 x bar
100 x 10
120 x 8
140 x 6
Band pull aparts: 5 x 20 …between OHP sets
Incline bench : 2 x 10 x 140

Pull downs: 3 x 10 x SW
Shrugs: 315 x 25
Arm curls: 2 x 6-8 X SW**

Due to the start of High school Football I have to change my lifting days to fit it in.

** Ive decided to perform my arm curls as outlined by Mark Rippetoe in the 2nd edition of Starting Strength.

DAMN IT WAS HOT!!!

Deload: bunch of shoulder mobility work

Buffalo bar squats: 2 x 10 x bar
95
135
185
225 x 10
270 x 0…Started to cramp

It was reading 100 degrees on the thermostat in the garage not factoring in the humidity. That and being in a hot work environment all day spelled disaster today.

Cramping sucks! Sounds like a regular temperature day for work and lifting here.

And does it suck

DELOAD OVER!!!

Warm up : allot

Bench: 2 x 10 x bar
95
135
185
210
225 x 5
260 x 5
295 x 5… did 10 might have went a little over board at this point. Might have had 1 still in the tank.
3 x 8 x 225

Band pull aparts: 5 x 20 between bench sets

Bent Rows: 4 x 6-8 x 185… Havent done these in awhile went light.Reps were crisp and explosive

Arm Curls: OH come on who cares …its bloody curls

Shoulder horn: 2 x 20 x 10… might be time to add another set or up the weight

OK … I deloaded for seven days. Since I train 3 days a week with a 4 lift rotation i would have ended up deloading for 11 days before I went heavy again if I followed my slandered rotation.

I love the band pull aparts and dislocates. Fixed a lot of my shoulder pain recently.

What’s the shoulder horn? (Runs off to youtube…)

Not a fan of having to do either Pull aparts or shoulder horn , but they are now part of the pre & rehab portion of my training. Since I had work done on the left shoulder back in February.

Warm up : allot of shoulder mobility stuff along with some light stretching.

Buffalo bar squats: 2 x bar x 10
95
135
185
230
280
300 x 5
345 x 5
395 x 5… UGH had a crap load in the tank. But I was having form issues more details below.
300 x 15

GM’s : 5 x 10 x 135 … Actually used a straight bar and forced my left arm to do it. First few sets sucked , but my mobility is really starting to improve.

Barbell roll out: 3 x 10 x 135 … 3 was enough fried the mid section.

As I stated above I was having form issues. I decided to retire my old lifting shoes which were Inzer pillars. I was noticing the soles of the shoes seem to be losing their firmness and becoming soft.I was starting to notice when I would walk out a heavier load it was feeling less stable . So I went and got a pair of work boots, which have a harder shoe along with being slightly wider. Only down side is the heel of the boot might be a tad higher. So in a nut shell my new foot wear altered how my squats felt slightly, which through me off.

Standing OHP : 2 x bar x 10
85
105
125
135 x 5
155 x 5
175 x 5 …did 10
155 x 5
135 x 10
Band Pull aparts: done between OHP sets

CG Bench: 3 x 10 x 175
Pull downs: 5 x 10 x SW
Shrugs: 3 x 10 x 345
Band external rotation : 2 x 20

Dead lift: 2 x 135
185
245
295
335 x 3
385 x 3…OK I did something I haven’t done in a long while. I put on a Belt. I have no clue why since I have been pulling belt less for so long.
430 x 3 … did 5 with more in the tank.

Ok… I did some Auto regulating,OR I had a wild hair up my ass. I decided to work up.
475 x 3
500 x 3…WTF
Speed sets: 5 x 2 x 335

Front squats: 205 x 5
235 x 5
265 x 5 … I suck on these its hard for me to keep the bar in the proper position.

OK , I canned what else I had planned, I was tired.

^^ muscle building nutrition

Warm up: some light band movements

Bench : 2 x bar
95
135
175
210
245 x 3
275 x 3
310 x 3
3 x 5 x 245

Band pull aparts: 5 x 20 between bench sets
Pulldowns 5 sets
Arm curls: 3 sets
skull crushers: 2 sets

EHH… Old carcass felt like crap just got some work in.

Random thought… Some people on this site take lifting way too seriously.

  1. Its not rocket science
  2. Outside of the gym among the general public…no one cares.
  3. Unless your going to get rich off of it… put it in the proper perspective
  4. Enjoy it… its a hobby if your not enjoying it, get a new HOBBY!

Love your log. And your perspective.

Gotta get my own log going again.

Nice pulls up there and your points are right on.

370 x 3
425 x 3 …did 6 with reps still in the tank NOTE: OK on this set I decided to hell with it and switched to a REGULAR BAR. For the record ZERO PAIN !!!

WENT full STUPID and worked up… Another note I decided to put on a belt.

 460 x 3 with reps left
 500 x 1 .... Yeah BABY!!!!
 325 x 10 (belt-less)

GM"S: 5 x 10 x 160… strict as hell. For the record Im not a fan on going stupid heavy on these
Barbell row outs: 5 x 10 x 135

This should have been a shit session due to how I was feeling before hand. Lets see if I pay for it .

Strong session there sir. New Avi looks like someone just pissed you off before pic was taken.
