Thanks… but I really want to get my deadlifts to a respectful number ![]()
Deload…
Standing OHP : 3 x 10 x bar
100 x 10
120 x 8
140 x 6
Band pull aparts: 5 x 20 …between OHP sets
Incline bench : 2 x 10 x 140
Pull downs: 3 x 10 x SW
Shrugs: 315 x 25
Arm curls: 2 x 6-8 X SW**
Due to the start of High school Football I have to change my lifting days to fit it in.
** Ive decided to perform my arm curls as outlined by Mark Rippetoe in the 2nd edition of Starting Strength.
DAMN IT WAS HOT!!!
Deload: bunch of shoulder mobility work
Buffalo bar squats: 2 x 10 x bar
95
135
185
225 x 10
270 x 0…Started to cramp
It was reading 100 degrees on the thermostat in the garage not factoring in the humidity. That and being in a hot work environment all day spelled disaster today.
Cramping sucks! Sounds like a regular temperature day for work and lifting here.

OK … I deloaded for seven days. Since I train 3 days a week with a 4 lift rotation i would have ended up deloading for 11 days before I went heavy again if I followed my slandered rotation.

I love the band pull aparts and dislocates. Fixed a lot of my shoulder pain recently.
What’s the shoulder horn? (Runs off to youtube…)

Not a fan of having to do either Pull aparts or shoulder horn , but they are now part of the pre & rehab portion of my training. Since I had work done on the left shoulder back in February.
Warm up : allot of shoulder mobility stuff along with some light stretching.

185

300 x 5

395 x 5… UGH had a crap load in the tank. But I was having form issues more details below.
300 x 15
GM’s : 5 x 10 x 135 … Actually used a straight bar and forced my left arm to do it. First few sets sucked , but my mobility is really starting to improve.
Barbell roll out: 3 x 10 x 135 … 3 was enough fried the mid section.
As I stated above I was having form issues. I decided to retire my old lifting shoes which were Inzer pillars. I was noticing the soles of the shoes seem to be losing their firmness and becoming soft.I was starting to notice when I would walk out a heavier load it was feeling less stable . So I went and got a pair of work boots, which have a harder shoe along with being slightly wider. Only down side is the heel of the boot might be a tad higher. So in a nut shell my new foot wear altered how my squats felt slightly, which through me off.
Standing OHP : 2 x bar x 10
85
105
125
135 x 5
155 x 5

385 x 3…OK I did something I haven’t done in a long while. I put on a Belt. I have no clue why since I have been pulling belt less for so long.
430 x 3 … did 5 with more in the tank.
Ok… I did some Auto regulating,OR I had a wild hair up my ass. I decided to work up.

Speed sets: 5 x 2 x 335
Front squats: 205 x 5

Band pull aparts: 5 x 20 between bench sets
Pulldowns 5 sets
Arm curls: 3 sets
skull crushers: 2 sets
EHH… Old carcass felt like crap just got some work in.

Random thought… Some people on this site take lifting way too seriously.
- Its not rocket science
- Outside of the gym among the general public…no one cares.
- Unless your going to get rich off of it… put it in the proper perspective
- Enjoy it… its a hobby if your not enjoying it, get a new HOBBY!
Love your log. And your perspective.
Gotta get my own log going again.
Nice pulls up there and your points are right on.
