Bulldog: Working on regaining man card

It was my husband’s addition to our gym. My addition was an 18 lb training bar so I could do Military press. The regular bar is too heavy for me to do most sets. So I doubt I will need a safety bar with the weight I am able to move. Lol

Edit: In my defense, I’m still stronger than like 95% of the women I know.

Whatever it takes to keep squatting. Try to include belt squats too for heavy work.

Well… i could continue squatting with the Buffalo bar if I wanted.

But at this point a compromise is in order. Basically , the need to manage the inderect wear and tear on the shoulders .

Plus i get good carryover with the Ssbar.

I’ve been having success rotating between the bars per training phase. I love what the buffalo bar does for me, but not what it does TO me.

Lol… the real benefit for me is that it offers me a little more room to spread my hands out. Thanks to the additional bar length.

Ssbar squats: 70% x 3

80% x 3

90% x 3plus…. 8

3x8@ 70%

reverse lunges with pendulum squat: 3 x 10

Reverse hypers: 4 x 10

Straight leg sit ups: 50 total… Probably should have added weight.

I still roll my eyes still when I come across some independent article or video covering 5/3/1.

First thought is…. Yep the Arthur never read any of the fucking books.

I still love how these folks always WANT 5/3/1 to just be one set of 5, 3 or 1 reps because that strawman helps them tear it down. Whenever they find out there is more to it than that, suddenly THEY become defenders of the “one true 5/3/1”

Allot of these guys are becoming pure entertainment for myself.

Just the level of talking out their ass is a thing of beauty for me.

I came across one guy giving it a positive review but he mentioned ways you could improve it. His solution was a few back off sets on the main lifts for extra volume.

I almost pissed my pants laughing. I was thinking “ oh my God, thats groudbreaking!”

Halloween, Friday night, no kids to take care of. So obviously I’m going to bed early so I can squat in the morning. 23 year old me would be so disgusted with 46 year old me.

100% true… these indviduals online who tear it down either.

  • Pushing for their own approach they follow . Be it from their own favorite “ coach” or somethingof their own design.
  • Seem to miss the point strength and development is a long term and slow process. That is for most average individuals.

Awwww. That’s awesome! I miss trick or treating with my guys. They were so cute! I used to dress up and everything. This year I didn’t even put up decorations. Lame.

Well down a half pound over last Saturday. My average weekly weight has stayed constant . App upped my daily cals just a little bit.
