He’s right but I’m not sure who he is talking to. Does anyone really think with 7+ hour meets the sport could ever be “mainstreamed”???
The chain neckwear was a nice touch though.

Nope hasnt reached Alpha Dog status yet
Pup pulled 370 x 3 eeehh should have shut him down after the second . Third was a grinder which I wanted to avoid.
Also his pressing is improving was able to do Incline bench for 3 x 6-8 with 135
hmmm my youngest Benched his Body weight 10 times and got on the board at school
Been dealing with family issues back at it the end of this week…

I hope all is okay.
So the youngest pup is following in his brother and father’s footsteps in terms of strength!

HMMMM.not really hes more into looking pretty slightly
Did my first Squat and pull session Friday… too lazy to post it at the moment .
Heres some video from today of Pup doing some front squats…
Bench: Running his Strong 15 with a slight tweak
a few warm up sets.
180 x 5
215 x 4
250 x 3
275 x 2
290 x 1
305 x 1
320 x 1
For anyone not familiar with his approach hes a big user of what he has dub as “over warm up sets” with the back off sets being where the actual working takes place.
Heres where I did the tweak… Running this normally It would end this week with a AMRAP set with 70% of this 3 week block training max. Which would be 255 but from my experience running this I get good at repping. Some in here might remember how much so… Case in point such as 275 x 18 on Bench which I feel for me has zero carry over excluding some strength endurance and hypertrophy. So I decided to use the Prilepin chart so my last sets ended up being this(FYI I would suggest anyone else should stick to the program as written unless you have some real time under the Bar)
3 x 8 x 255
Incline: In the article he ran his Big 15. Didn’t change anything even if I question the need to run another over warm up. But then again since the bar is traveling in a slightly different plain I will stick to it as written
135 x 5
170 x 4
205 x 3
240 x 2
270 x 1
240 x 10
240 x 5… this is what he calls a 50% set. In a nut shell you rest about a minute and try and get 50% of the reps you did the first set.
Band pull aparts: 5 x 20
Well that’s it. Oh yeah the twice a week comes into play latter this week on BTN Presses. When I wrote twice a week I didn’t mean Bench.
Have you done Carter’s programs in the past? Looks like solid work.

Yep Sure have… Like i said I agree with allot of his philosophy not all but most.like i said above it mirrors allot of what I was doing when I was young and sprite. ironically I run 5/3/1 from time to time because the rep range is similar too the first strength program I was on in High school. Besides im pretty sure it was the foundation of 5/3/1 or at least the inspiration for it.

^^^ yeah it was one of those type of sessions.
Bent row ( Pendlay): worked up to 2 x 5 x 275
Pulldowns: 3 x 10 x SW
Shrugs: 2 x 8 x 405 just focused on getting the shoulders high
Curls: do you even need to ask?
EHH…just got some upper back work in didnt push it that hard.
Sometimes you’ve just got to clock in and get it done.
Hey up bulldog! How’s life?
How do you find BTN presses on your shoulders? I was thinking of giving them a go again after reading that recent article, I always found them Ok, but gave them up because everyone said they were shoulder wreckers.

Yeah Joe your spot on… in all reality for most that’s the real reality. I know Dan John speaks about time clock punching.
