Hey up bulldog! How’s life?

How do you find BTN presses on your shoulders? I was thinking of giving them a go again after reading that recent article, I always found them Ok, but gave them up because everyone said they were shoulder wreckers. [/quote]
Farmer!!! GREAT to SEE YOU BACK!!!

Life I cant complain since a year ago Id never thought i would be benching heavy again.

I agree 100% with the article you mentioned… Similar to you I original stop doing them because of stupid advice. Which in retrospect was a mistake due to the fact that they kept my shoulder mobility up.

Seated BTNP: 100 x 5
125 x 4
150 x 3
175 x 2
200 x 1… last over warm up set
175 x 10
175 x 5… 50% set
Band pull aparts: 5 x 20
Band push downs: 5 x 20

EHH another punch the clock session… wasnt feeling strong at all.

Not sure what the deal has been with my old carcass this past week… Everything feels heavy , more so then it should. Case in point every weight im using in the early phase on this program should feel light and I should be generating allot of bar speed.

Warm up: a crap ton of foam rolling and mobility work for hips and shoulders they felt tight and locked up.
Squat : a few warm up sets
225 x 5
250 x 4
305 x 3
340 x 2
360 x 1
385 x 1
405 x 1
Pause squats : 2 x 5 x 315… things were finally starting to improve

Two things was causing me issues… Like i mentioned above Left hip was tight and sore for some reason and the left shoulder did want too play along using the regular bar again.
Luckily Deads went allot better…

Pulls off of 4 inch blocks: 210 x 5
250 x 4
295 x 3
340 x 2
380 x 1
420 x 1… went up easy with some actually speed
Pulls from floor: 4 x 3 x 315… easy with good speed and good form.
Stiff leg deads: 240 x 10

Thats all she wrote… still annoyed about the actual effort I had to use.

Its true
not your fault at all your born hot.

solid work - even if its punching the clock

I just hope things run better next week.

Heading to Myrtle Beach South Carolina for a much needed vacation for the family this summer. Anyone by chance have any suggestions of things to do while one is there.

Oh Thank God… out of the Funk I was feeling last week. Shoulders felt tight starting out from using a regular bar for squatting again but once I got the stiffness out things started clicking.

Bench: a few warm up sets
185 x 5
210 x 4
250 x 3
275 x 2
290 x 1
310 x 1
330 x 1
3 x 8 x 275 … felt fairly easy

Incline : 135 x 5
170 x 4
205 x 3
240 x 2
280 x 1
240 x 12
240 x 6

band pull aparts: 5 x 20

Session felt pretty good got the work in. Felt the way it should at this point.

Tested Dakota on Fronts today…

obviously the week picked up.
solid pressing.

Bent rows: (strict) worked up to 3 x 5 x 275
Pulldowns: 3 sets
shrugs: 3 x 8 x 405
Curls : who cares

got the work in…

Seated BTNP: bar
100 x 5
125 x 4
150 x 3
175 x 2
210 x 1
175 x 12
175 x 6
Little concern… felt a slight twinge in right shoulder in the rotator cuff. Nothing painful mind you but ive gotten paranoid in my old age.

Front plate raises: 25lbs x 50
Push downs : 3 x 10 x sw

Thats all… heading up to my buddies place Friday too train around his crew.

Well… my wife pretty much said there wasnt a chance of hell that she was going to allow me to travel and train with my buddies crew.
Heres why…

Went to a eye specialist who conformed I had a atrophic retinal hole…which he proceeded to repair with a laser procedure… Im in a GREAT FUCKING MOOD

Yikes. At least it’s repaired. Limitations?

Well far as I know I don’t have any limitations… BUT my wife decided to call back to the specialist office to see if I should be lifting anything heavy. (grumble)

Damn, that sucks. My wife would do the same thing.

Awww! I thought you were going to get to wear an eyepatch. That would’ve been cool, mounting the platform in a patch.

Yeah… I might be master in the garage. But there is no arguing who the boss is…lol

Got a session in under the wife’s nose…

warm up : foam rolling and mobility stuff for hips and shoulders

Squat: several warm up sets
225 x 5
260 x 4
305 x 3
340 x 2
375 x 1
405 x 1
425 x 1
Pause squats : 2 x 3 x 340

All these sets felt easy actually squatting them… But they felt heavy across the shoulders, The whole area was just stiff and tight as hell making it suck to get the bar where I wanted it.

Dead Block pulls: 225 x 5
270 x 4
315 x 3
360 x 2
405 x 1
455 x 1… felt easy, thank god
From Floor: 3 x 3 x 340… nice and easy with allot of speed
Stiff legged Deads: 265 x 10

All done

^^ worked the Meathead up to 425 on deads today after his planned training on cleans and deads.
