I’ve got the need. The need for speed!

Dynamic squats: 10 x 2 @ 65%
Speed pulls: 12 x 1 @ 65%
Kettle swings: 3 x 15 @ SW
Backward sled drags: 3 x 80 yards @ SW… quads cried
In all reality the dynamic work at my age is not going to make me more explosive. At most it will help maintain it and utilize what I still have.

Sling shot Bench: Top set 435ibs/197.3kgs X 1 …Oh this become a grinder because my lower lats cramped HARD mid way up.
^^ REALLY UGLY !
Buffalo Bar Bench: 3 x 5-8 at some weight . got a wild hair and did 330lbs/149.6kgs X 8
SSBAR JM press: 3 x 8 @ SW
Skipped upper back work since I plan on doing a full upper back tomorrow .
Not often you see the bar start to come back down, stop, and start going up again. Hell of a press dude.
It was ugly as hell. Upper back strength bit me in the ass
In 2011 we were in Japan for our deployment and went from Japanese winter to Aussie wet season in Darwin to train with the 5th RAR. Our doc asked for 2 days to acclimatize, which isn’t a lot, and 6 hours after we were off the plane our captain decided we’d just do an “acclimatization run” for 6 miles. 1 heat exhaustion, 1 pulled hamstring, several vomits and everyone severely dehydrated. Fun. But Australia was a great time. Pretty girls too!
It is pretty good down here and the girls are indeed very nice.

4 inch block Trap Bar: worked up to 610lbs/276.6kgs Good note went up without me having to mentally psych myself up. Bad news I didnt maintain a neutral spine midway.
Will say that at 90% & 95% of the top set felt easy
SSBAR FRONT Squats: 3 x 5 @ SW
SSBAR Good Mornings: 5 x 10 @ SW… focused on working lower erectors
Seated Band Hamstring curls: 5 x 10
Well felt pretty good afterwords… dick wasnt knocked into the dirt.
that was a powerful press indeed.
It was crap

First time poster, found this site after I started on TRT following my 2nd lumbar fusion (first one failed). I have really enjoyed your log. It has been enlightening for me for a few reasons. I wanted to wait to post until after I had read through everything.
-
I turned 40 this year - I am notorious for not listening to my body, pushing myself too hard, then injuring myself and being down for the count for far too long. I have had 2 fusions in the past 20 months, and tore a bicep 8 months ago. Your log has reminded me to listen to my body when something feels off and just back off if need be, even if that can feel like I am pussing out.
-
I have two kids, 3 and under. It’s really cool to see how involved you are with them, your pride, your struggles with them with no BS / filter.
-
I have struggled with sleep a ton, especially this year - averaging about 5 hrs a night for way too long. Did the sleep study thing, negative for apnea, but just this week have renewed an effort to get my ass back to sleep to maximize my training, etc.

This forum / thread is cool, because I had dinner with two guys I went to HS with a while back (they were both soccer players - I was a OL / Shotputter etc.) Friend one points to me and says to friend two "This guy still lifts weights and trains really hard like 4 to 5 days a week!) Friend two looks at me and says “Your wife lets you go lift 5 days a week?!!?” I t took me a minute to reply with “My wife wants me to be healthy and happy - she knows that training does that.” Nice to be someplace where people get it.
Thanks for maintaining it and being so dedicated to it. I signed up today and plan on following the thread regularly. I might pick your brain at some point on how you adjust your eating when you feel like your conditioning needs improvement.

First… thank you. I am honored by your remarks and that your first post is on my log. I at times wonder how many on here actually read the the stuff on here.
1, trust me its hard learning to your own body . Most time ego gets in the way and as you get older it doesn’t seem to get any better. Damn bad luck with the fusion … feel for you brother.

I just find my sons to be more interesting then myself. Now that they arent really kids but young men I find it hard not putting their heads through a wall…lol . Odd that I had more patient and tolerant when they were younger.
-
Yeah my test was positive … which was not a surprise due to my ridiculous neck girth. Been on a C pap for it. Which is a pain in the ass.
-
My wife doesnt mind … since she knows I am high strung and if I dont lift I become a irritable jackass.
Feel free to pick my brain… if im not 100% sure I will point you in the proper direction who might.

Dynamic Bench: 12 x 3 @ 60% … went ahead and used the buffalo bar on these, made them slightly harder. BUT still maintain decent bar speed.
Was noticing some fatigue in my upper back from Mondays pulls.
Standing OHP: 3 x 5-8 @ SW
Dicks press: 3 x 5-8 @ SW
Pushdowns: 3 x 12 @ SW
Face pull variation: 5 x 20 @ SW
^^ for those that dont know this is in my all time top 10

more of this…
Dynamic squats tomorrow … Plan on trying a different approach on bracing my core .
Were you get that home video of when my wife is pisted at me?
Hey bulldog how’s your son? The one that was bitten
He will be fine. No major damage other than the puncture wounds. As long as no infection occurs things should be good.
Alright, glad to hear!
