Either way, I seriously doubt this thread is about what people who have not bulked up think about bulking up…so why so much talk from guys who never got that heavy and never really bulked up like we are talking about?
Allow other people to get what they want from these threads without the shout downs.
Nobody is shouting…I believe that every question that was asked was answered.
Relax dude, seriously.

Wow…like you all don’t do that all of the time…using a picture after an accident when I couldn’t train to describe how “fat” I got.
I am really fighting the urge to say “I was talking to Bauber and not you so don’t stay out of this” but I won’t because everyone, you included, can see how immature, dumb and dick headed that would be.
Please stop with the “you all” business.
If you want to talk to me then do so.
If you want to talk about what I wrote then do so.
But don’t lump me in with the perceived slights that you get from other posters.
We had about half a day of no BS, everything was glorious and then YOU started up the crap because, as we all know, that is your form of entertainment.
If that’s how you pass your idle time between prepping for the OR then that’s your choice but acting like its other people’s faults is old.
You tried to stir up controversy and succeeded because that is why you are here.
You love “debating”
I never called you small.
I don’t think I ever called you weak (you used to preacher curl 85lb dumbbells for crying out loud)
I did say that you are carrying a considerable amount of fat.
I never said you were a slob.
I never called you small fat and weak so please don’t lump me into the group that did.
And by group I mean one guy that said that.
I sure would like to discuss this topic further with guys who actually did it well…like Bauber…and not guys who haven’t done it at all.

So let me see if I get this, you eat enough to reach a certain weight, lets say 300, regardless of fat gains, then when that weight it reached you maintain it to give your body a chance to adapt to it. So you are eating enough to maintain that 300 and the idea is your body is recomping that 300 lbs and your LBM is going up, while your body fat is going down while you stay at 300? Then when you feel like showing off a little of that muscle gained you diet down to a leaner body fat %?
No…first off, anyone setting sites on 300lbs had better be already big as fuck and bigger than most from normal training.
I hit 300lbs because I was a big muscular guy at over 285lbs…which I have posted pictures for.
I was that weight in the military so no, I was not some fat blob who couldn’t move.
300lbs was a stretch for me and pushing it…but I really just wanted to see if I could hit that weight and not be obese to see if I could manage a set point.
If I was never 240lbs…and hit 240lbs…but am carrying a little more body fat…I don’t hop on a super diet. I keep training as if for size but limit my food intake. I may even drop some weight, but the overall goal is to eventually hit that same weight with MORE muscle and LESS fat as my own body adapts to the weight and environment.
Ok I think I am on the same page with what your saying, 300 was a bad example. So lets use me for example, sitting here at 195 5’10" around 15% (guessing for the sake of the example), and I wanted to weigh 200 with 10%, would you say that I could get there faster by eating enough for 210lbs while maintaining a rigorous workout then when I stall at 210 stay there and let my body do some recomping then diet back to where I want to be and see if I hit my 200 @ 10% goal?

Honestly, when I was in that same position, I set sites full out on 200lbs no matter what. I would be busting my ass in the gym 5 or more days a week in college and eating my ass off.
Would I eat as haphazardly now? Of course not. I know now how much is “too much” and I know what foods I can get away with better now…but it helped then as far as “body weight set point theory”.
If I hit 200lbs I was felling fine, I would keep going up. If I felt I was gaining too much fat, I would cut back and maybe even diet after holding that weight for about two months or so and training hard.

I had a similar approach to this when I got serious at 19, I was 175 with ok strength from sports but decided I wanted to be ripped 200. So I at like a 200lber never actually reached it because I didn’t have things dialed in enough to beat my supercharged teen metabolism but I did make solid gains hitting 187 @ 10% by 21, potentially a little less as my gf calipered me at 8% but I added the 2% for error. Then I got mono twice that took me out for a few months and lost a lot of strength and size, got discouraged, quit, and here we are with me about 3 months into starting over.

I never wrestled but knew guys who did that were very lean and would cut 10-15 pounds of water weight in a day before a match.
Lots of MMA guys do this as well no?
My next door neighbor fights in the UFC and I’ve seen him a few times at our community gym sweating it out on the treadmill.
It looks horrible lol

You do not seem to be able to.

And I would imagine they aren’t geared up and huge. Trey was massive ie can hold more water just from that. Through insulin at high doses high GH and anabolism and you have a recipe for insane water retention

They were small/not geared up and still easily cut 10-15 pounds of water weight in a day which in some cases was 10+% of their body weight.

I would routinely lose around 6 lbs of water weight in wrestling practice. I think my most was 10 lbs in a practice. 5-10 lbs is pretty each to shed in a short amount of time.

Puts things into perspective.
I always thought wrestling was extremely unhealthy with all that water dropping and starvation before matches
