Bulking How Its Done

No doubt he is a monster. He looked great when he hit the scene then gradually went downhill. Have not heard anything from him in years.

Yes sir, I think the biggest thing from it was getting my body used to carrying the weight and then gradually getting the composition of that weight to more lean mass over time.
Body weight set points.

I have tried to discuss that here but have not been able to for the past year or so due to getting shouted down if the topic ever came up.

I agree.

It is why I am the weight I am now at this height and can EASILY carry it around.
I am interested (genuinely) to hear your opinion and how you use bodyweight set points. Not to flame just curious.

Wow…like you all don’t do that all of the time…using a picture after an accident when I couldn’t train to describe how “fat” I got.

Just like he said, when he first got to 300 he was by no means lean.

The same happened with me.

Let me explain it like this…the weight I am now I can run…ride my bike and run up stairs. When I first hit this body weight years back this body weight gave me a hard time and I was carrying more body fat.

My body is now used to this weight…and the theory is it allows further muscle growth that would be hampered if someone was unable to carry that size with legit homesostasis.

Just looking in

Bauber and the Prof - back shots; both wide as a barn door!

18% bf; if 25% is obese and the subject is 250lb they would need to add a mighty 15+ lb of fat to get in the dangerzone, thats a huge amount of fat to add in absolure terms, more than would put an 18% bf 200lb or under person into obesity

Set points; also interesting and makes sense given homeostasis but most of what I’ve read relates to losing weight
ryanbCXG wrote:
Didn’t say that if he dropped all the water he would be contest ready. What I am saying is his bf is lower than x’s which isn’t too hard to do in the pic posted. Then add on 40lbs of water and you trey.
40lbs of water?

LOL!!!

That may be because every time I have tried to discuss this in recent years, it gets shouted down before a discussion can take place.

So let me see if I get this, you eat enough to reach a certain weight, lets say 300, regardless of fat gains, then when that weight it reached you maintain it to give your body a chance to adapt to it. So you are eating enough to maintain that 300 and the idea is your body is recomping that 300 lbs and your LBM is going up, while your body fat is going down while you stay at 300? Then when you feel like showing off a little of that muscle gained you diet down to a leaner body fat %?

After all this time and 1000’s of posts later, I still fail to see what the big deal is that some people are more comfortable holding more fat while gaining (bulking or whatever you want to call it) than others.

The whole issue of assisted or not is irrelevant IMO. Sure it changes things, but it still boils down to:

 • GOALS, individual genetics, hormonal profile, diet, and work ethic (amongst other things).

Bauber is another guy who bulked up (assisted or not) who got big with the goal of strength AND size over the quickest time possible. He did it. Whether he (or anyone else who’s done it) would do it again or not is irrelevant as well, because it’s already done.

I don’t really care either way, because I’m a complete retard who just goes and lifts as heavy as I can, but damn it makes for a lot of skimmed posts wading through these forums sometimes (Mroewww!! Mrreoowwww!!!)

D, in all those posts I cannot remember anybody having a problem with somebody carrying more bodyfat than others…anywhere in all these god forsaken threads.

And I love me some Steely power bear.

No…first off, anyone setting sites on 300lbs had better be already big as fuck and bigger than most from normal training.

I hit 300lbs because I was a big muscular guy at over 285lbs…which I have posted pictures for.

I was that weight in the military so no, I was not some fat blob who couldn’t move.

300lbs was a stretch for me and pushing it…but I really just wanted to see if I could hit that weight and not be obese to see if I could manage a set point.

If I was never 240lbs…and hit 240lbs…but am carrying a little more body fat…I don’t hop on a super diet. I keep training as if for size but limit my food intake. I may even drop some weight, but the overall goal is to eventually hit that same weight with MORE muscle and LESS fat as my own body adapts to the weight and environment.

Ummmmm I don’t remember anybody calling you fat and weak…I certainly did not

You will also notice that none of the other larger posters who carry more bodyfat have beef with anybody else.

Wonder why that is?

They don’t seem to have beef with me either…and white flash calls me fat and weak constantly and none of you speak out against it.

In addition to the homeless woman commenting on my calves, did I tell you about the musclebear daddy that wanted to buy me beer?

Apparently I am attractive to:

 • Muscle bears
 • Black women
 • Homeless women

NTTAWWT

A guy gotta take what he can get.

Well new town for you = NEW BEARS

Winning.

Either way, I seriously doubt this thread is about what people who have not bulked up think about bulking up…so why so much talk from guys who never got that heavy and never really bulked up like we are talking about?

Allow other people to get what they want from these threads without the shout downs.

And you know the reason for that is you constantly berated him in various threads for YEARS.

How can you be so oblivious to the fact that treating people rude for years will eventually backfire?

WHITEFLASH, now you stop that. It’s NAUGHTY.
