Based on Bauber’s post in the “Naturals” thread, he was(is) natural in those pics. 220-something with abs (not shredded). I don’t know if that’s true for the pic above I posted.
I guess from my perspective with not having a BB competition goal at this point in my life, I wouldn’t bat an eye at going to the ‘fatness’ Bauber is in the pic above, maybe even a little more, if it meant that I was hitting my 1RM numbers. I’m not much off from his picture above, holding at a steady weight with numbers going up (and 1 belt hole tighter!).
We all know everyone is different and has different approaches for sure. If I were competing often, I would certainly not want to go up too far just to diet back down, but for, say PL’ing or just gym-rat badassery, I don’t think that pic above is even near unacceptable.
Bauber, sorry if you’ve posted this before, but how tall are you and what do you weigh in that pic?
I am 5’11 and in the above picture (meaning the one being discussed) I weighed 301-305ish. I have only been assisted for about three years.

Thank you sir.
And no problem I don’t mind answering any questions and enjoy being put on the spot!
Odd question for you Bauber. (Serious question.)
Did you get mad stretch marks?
I definitely got some. Mainly on the inside of my biceps, lats, and around my pecs in the armpit.
I don’t mind those. I think those are kinda cool. You gotta earn them. I was asking because I know a ton of guys wont do the huge bulk because they are afraid of getting stretch marks on their waistline. Personally, I did get a few very small ones on my waistline. I wasn’t blessed with good genetics when it comes to my skin. I was just curious.

True bulking IMO if you want to do it should only be done assisted as you will net more muscle. Naturals will only gian so much but assisted changes the game. Nutrient usage is much different and anabolism is increased and fat burning is increased.
I like this post, but I feel that assisted should apply to more than AAS
General youthfulness will assist with nutrient partitioning, heightened anabolism and fat metabolism. This applies double for virgin lifters.
Perhaps this is why people are successful with that first big bulk and then naturally climb up the learning curve into an approach more specialized.

Agreed. But youth doesn’t always mean the best hormone profiles. But I should of specified that the virgin lifter, that’s a fun term, can as well. The issue I have witht that is engraining poor habits.

What about just eating a lot of sunflower seeds?
I love sunflower seeds.
Me and my roommate used to use that cocoa butter pregnancy stretch mark cream and I never really thought that stuff did anything. mine were hidden for the most part though down the inside of my arm and only slightly down my side.

I am sure it would help, but the amount you would need to eat to get the same serving of 1 tablespoon of sunflower seed oil is quite a lot.

That’s because you’re supposed to rub it on your skin, not put it in your protein shakes.

Thanks for that. Did your 5’7" 220lb 6%bf natural buddy teach you that?
