Nice work, and thanks for your responses-- didn’t mean to put you on the spot… Well, I did, but, …
Thank you sir.

And no problem I don’t mind answering any questions and enjoy being put on the spot!
Odd question for you Bauber. (Serious question.)

Did you get mad stretch marks?
I definitely got some. Mainly on the inside of my biceps, lats, and around my pecs in the armpit.
I don’t mind those. I think those are kinda cool. You gotta earn them. I was asking because I know a ton of guys wont do the huge bulk because they are afraid of getting stretch marks on their waistline. Personally, I did get a few very small ones on my waistline. I wasn’t blessed with good genetics when it comes to my skin. I was just curious.
How did your waist get them from 1 inch of growth?
Bad skin genetics
Also sunflower seed oil on a daily basis can work wonder for your skin.
What about just eating a lot of sunflower seeds?
I love sunflower seeds.
I am sure it would help, but the amount you would need to eat to get the same serving of 1 tablespoon of sunflower seed oil is quite a lot.
Challenge Accepted
Nice pile of seeds there sir. Now
Get to eating

Bauber posted this in another thread, so I want to use it as a discussion point.

Bauber - Please discuss where your mind is at in this picture. Are you grossly obese? Is this your limit of fat and you’re starting to cut? Had you been dieting at this point? What is your estimated BF?

Is this what you would never do again?

In case of ‘red box’:
I weigh just over 300 in this picture. It was from about two years ago before I dieted down for summer. Every year I have worked on getting back up to a little over 300, but staying leaner, hence putting on more muscle to get to that weight than fat against the previous year.

I will say for competing; it is much easier to stay leaner in the offseason when diet time comes around. Found this out the hard way.

In my mind I felt a little fat in the picture being discussed for what I want to do. Now I would go to this BF % again if it meant packing on a lot more muscle in the process. I can lose the fat and muscle tends to stay on me fairly easily even when dieting.

And estimated BF I have no idea. I would guess 18%ish.
Thank you for this.

Clearly hitting “18%” or more didn’t hold you back at all. In fact, it would seem as if getting your weight up alone helped quite a bit.

That’s because you’re supposed to rub it on your skin, not put it in your protein shakes.
Thanks for that. Did your 5’7" 220lb 6%bf natural buddy teach you that?
What can someone so small teach anyone!

Yeah we were. My last year to play was 2004 season. We won state and were ranked #1 in TN by power rankings. We had around 12 players that started go D1. We also platooned. Out defense gave up an average 5 points per game and our offense was averaging near 35.

Had a handful of games my senior year where I didn’t even play a single down in the fourth quarter because the game was already so lopsided.

Yeah the first year I watched them, yall were the first team to beat South Panola in like 7 years or something. 21-19 great game.

The second year I think yall had lost a lot and it got ugly for yall. Don’t remember the score to that one.

To give some more perspective I dug up the pics from a few years ago where I hit 330.

Another

Last.

As you can see it wasn’t pretty in the waist.

Hey…leaner than that I was told that I was too fat and bulked too much.

Once again…it seems to have worked…as I don’t see guys with that much thickness who never bulked up like that.

Yeah south panola always has a good team. It is more rare for MUS to have a dominant team for consecutive years as the academic standards are enormously high.

Yes sir, I think the biggest thing from it was getting my body used to carrying the weight and then gradually getting the composition of that weight to more lean mass over time.

Bauber…how much do you think that your assistance program helped with both your bulk and you’re leaning down process?

Would you recommend that a natty bulk that high?

Body weight set points.

I have tried to discuss that here but have not been able to for the past year or so due to getting shouted down if the topic ever came up.

I agree.

It is why I am the weight I am now at this height and can EASILY carry it around.

This was me…back when many here are saying I was so fat that no one should ever get that fat to gain muscle.

T
I think it helped in that it allowed my body to get used to the weight. It also allowed my strength to really skyrocket. I was the strongest I had ever been.

As far as the assistance goes, it definitely helped me burn more calories while keeping more muscle as I dieted. Obviously assistance dramatically increases your strength and weight gain over shorter times, so I would have spent more time trying to get to that size and had to eat more relatively. Coming down when I dieted hard and with my body type the assistance allowed me to eat less than an unassisted would be able to and still retain as much muscle.

I don’t know if I would recommend a natty go that high when bulking as it would take much longer to get there and to diet it off in respect to what you would be able to retain. But then again I never bulked like that natty, so I have no idea to be honest. I would say depends on your body type. For me I would say I would probably not go as crazy on the bulk, if I were not assisted.

Big back Bauber. Mine when I was heavier.

[photo]38769[/photo]

You did what brought you the most muscle at one time…and it worked.

I did it…and yes, I agree, it depends on your body type and genetics.

If you have trouble losing body fat, you damn sure don’t need to be bulking up to any high degree…AT ALL.

I don’t see an issue with your bf in this pic. I mean it is not like you went Trey Brewer. Never go full on Trey Brewer bulk natty or assisted.

Bulking with gear is different than bulking natty. Apples and tomatoes.
