Go look at the thread done cutting. That’s the exact reason you don’t do that. You end up cutting for over a year to get to a decent leanness. Who would ever want to do that?
Dude, what is “a decent leanness”?

Is it possible that everyone will have a different personal standard they are shooting for?

It didn’t take me a year to look “decent” to me. Decent to you shouldn’t even matter.
Lol go re read my posts and see I said personal preference dictates a lot so does overall goal short and long term.

A decent level of leanness I would classify as what a majority of people can agree on

That doesn’t even respond directly to what I wrote.

You said it takes a year to diet down…when that isn’t true and would be based on that poerson’s own goals.

You were using that as a negative to what Trivium wrote…which makes your statement false.

Glad you found your way man but that is certainly not the only way. And to say someone has to do it your way is reminiscent of a prolific poster here.

I think the same progress can be made staying relatively lean if that is more comfortable for the individual. It takes a different mind set but it certainly works. And strength can be gained as well
I agree with Ryan on this. For the first few years I did the eat tons of calories to get big and disregarded how much fat I put on. It is a pita when you go to diet. Keeping the fat in check and slowly putting on weight has made a huge difference and my strength has increased as fast or faster than when eating just to get hooge.

That being said my body type easily puts on weight. Where my workout partner can literally eat pizza, drink cokes, eat burgers daily and keep abs and even beginnings of seratus showing, but also has a harder time gaining muscle. So, it depends a lot on your body type as well.

So lets see the bber that went from 160 to 220 and stayed at 10-12% bf all the way up, I think that would be very rare
I went from 170-225 with abs.

It is not only possible, but a whole hell of a lot more enjoyable than dragging around a bunch of worthless body goo.

I personally love the “it helps cushion the joints and helps leverage on lifts” mantra.

Delusional justification is delusional.

I think that for guys that struggle to gain any weight at all, bulking is probably a good idea. For me and what I assume is the majority of people in general, your weight is directly the result of calories in/calories out and your body can only create so much muscle at a time. No one is packing on 5 pounds of muscle in a month unless they are juicing their brains out or still riding the puberty high.

Dear Lord TCJeebusAllahBuddahRalphSpaghettiMonsterCowVader,

Please let there be a day where everyone realizes that there are many ways to achieve many goals, be it lean gains or bulking or slow gains or AAS or natural.

I fear that the servers will explode as thousands and thousands of posts of anger and butthurt from all sides are made. Please let #hawtabz and #fullhouse and #permabulkers and #skinnybitchez and #powerlifters and #bodybuilders and #weightlifters post in harmony and share in #LOLZ and not #t3hbutthurt.

Please Lord TCJeebusAllahBuddahRalphSpaghettiMonsterCowVader, please make it stop and let this place be a place that is fun and informative again.

A-fucking-men.

I don’t know on the bodyfat level…I have not done hydrostatic bf in the last several months. But I would guess I am somewhere in the 12-15% range.

I just think that you waste good years of being awesome (usually in the 18-25 range) with too much goo on you if you spend it bulking to look ok at 35+. And justifying it with “I’m getting swolzzzz” just sounds tired.

Lift hard, condition hard and be awesome…bulking is an excuse to eat more than you need.

So why bring a shit storm to where I am?

I don’t even post as much anymore…so any “shit storm” is because guys like you want one constantly.

Would you guys recommend any kind of conditioning during a lean mass phase, and if so, which type? Was actually thinking of incorporating some jump rope a few times a week, since my fat gains seem to be coming faster than muscle gains. Feeling flat and fat on a daily basiees, baby pleaseee.

My love is universal. I love all my brothers.

So the fact that there is never any arguments in the BB section anymore has nothing to do with the fact that YOU don’t post there anymore?

LOL OK Brofessor.

And the fact that every thread in THIS forum that you post in turns into an e-fight has nothing to do with the fact that YOU post in them?

LOL OK Brofessor

Yes, that would be true…because if you didn’t want any part of a “shit storm” your name would no appear in the thread continuing said “shit storm”.

Some people respond better to HIIT while others prefer LISS.
Pick which one works best for you or which one you prefer and do it in moderation.
If you incorporate cardio and notice your weight gain stalling or you start losing weight then adjust your calories accordingly.
It all depends but stopping/neglecting cardio because you are “bulking” or absolutely idiotic.
