So lets see the bber that went from 160 to 220 and stayed at 10-12% bf all the way up, I think that would be very rare
I already posted my pics but I started at 155 and am now 220 and never lost my 6 pack and serratus
Now that is good, are you young though? (Doesnt take anything away mind you but young is ideal for hormones etc)
24 and for 6 months of those 2 years I had less testosterone in my system than a woman it wasn’t normalized until 8 months into my Gaining
What was your training and eating regimen like? Just general guidelines would be appreciated!
Training surprising hasn’t changed a ton in terms of split. It’s always been push pull leg repeat. I have messed with others but always had my best progress with that. I can detail other stuff if you want. Back then it was 3-4 exercises 3-4 sets 6-8 reps for day one. On day 2 10-12 increase weight or reps on at least one exercise each repeat workout.
Docs still unsure why they think it has to do with auto immune along with my hashimotos (sp?) disease. Sucks but pushed through and trained anyway lol.

That is inspiring.
That would have kept most here out of the gym completely but you pushed through.
Way to go Ryan, keep it up buddy!

I’d like to hear a bit more about your training in detail if you’d care to post it?

I was diagnosed with low T at age 22. No one knows why it happened; it just did (idiopathic). I’ve actually referred 5 guys from T-mag to my doc, and they were all set to go after one or two visits, unlike when some of them and I visited clueless docs before only for them to tell us, “it’s in our heads”.
A significant minority of men under 30 have low T these days.

Yeah I’d like more info too. Actually running same type of split as you do, Pull-Push-Legs in my case, but going 2 days on, 1 day off, so it goes like pull-push-off-legs-push-off-pull-legs-off…I find that only 1 day of rest if not enought between 3 training days. Maybe I should cut on the volume.
For exemple, today was push day, did a total of 11 sets of chest, 3 for delts (was fried) and 6 for tris.
Anyway, would be nice to hear about your split and maybe more detail on your nutrition, like were you tracking calories, if so full blown macro with myfitnesspal, or just protein and cals.

+1 badassery for you sir. I have had my test low before and it makes you feel like absolute dog shit.
It was a bitch feeling like that and the rock bottom thyroid didn’t help either but classes had to be dominated and I love being in the gym but it was a pain in ass getting off my couch.

Ya I remember you talking about this before ryan. You sir are a trooper for sure. Are you still on meds for thyroid etc.Glad that you got things back on track.
As I have said I have basically always done a push pull legs split repeat it for 6 days of workouts a week and normally would do arms as a 7th. For 8 months my focus was weight and reps moved and always increasing something. Good for strength no good gains in size. Most lifts were compounds. And I have always done fasted cardio 4-7 days a week mostly LISS ranging from 30 min to 2hrs lol. Study when I do this or watch a good show. Stayed between 10-20 sets at this time. Noticed size was not the best. Started doing a bit more JM training and also switched up back to focusing purely on form and contraction. Took 2-3 months to learn how to use my back.
About 6 months ago I switched to waht I am doing now which is JM principals but much higher volume. Been working it up slowly. One heavy day and one pump day of the push pull legs. The heavy days are around 30-50 sets. I count warmup and back down in these as well. Pump days can get up to 60-70 at times. No true focus on weight. It’s all on form and contraciton and pushing as hard as I can that day. Rest periods are 1-130 and down to 30-45 at times. Lots of supersets and giant sets now.
I used to go in with set in stone plans now I just go in with an idea or two and go from there. What feels good. What rep range feels right. Push strength on days where I am strong. It’s been fantastic I used to anxious and worried before the gym because I wanted to best the book. Now it’s just plain fun.

Wow, that a hell of a high volume! so basically you are in the gym 7/7 with very high sets? You are a machine man. Are you using some type of ‘‘assistance’’ ? Either way, great to see it worked for you!
Slowly worked up to and my body is used to training for hours and hours everyday. Did it from 11-18. And continued by myself after that. I don’t go to failure on anything. 2-3 reps in the tank. Technically yes I am but it is perscribed. I back off if I start to feel best and run down but bounce back fast.
And I missed the question before I am still treated for both and will be for life

I do think ppl underestimate what a body can do. I don’t have a physical job. Med school is sitting on your as reading. So 2 hrs of lifting and 1 hr of LISS is no big deal IMO. Now if I were a construction worker or something. That wold be insane
How is med school going? And where are you studying? Would love to have the grades to do so, but was not working enough for them. PRetty high standards where I live.
I am at UW madison. Was tough to get in but fun. Just got done with first year. Second year is supposed to be a bitch. Doing clinical research with a. Surgeon this summer

Congrats man. You’ve been lifting since 11 yo if I read correctly? Thats quite a long time!
11 I wouldn’t quite consider true lifting but training for sports hard since then. More explosive work then. 14 I would condiser start of more serious weights and didn’t seriously bodybuild weight lifting stuff until 2 years ago. I should of been more specific

You still made some mad progress. Time for me to grow, feel so small right now.
