Bulking How Its Done

Yeah I have done some bulking stints and some went well and some didn’t. I always gained muscle, but I have changed some things to get the optimum muscle gain to fat ratio for my body. Which just so happens to include me eating pretty clean year round.

It just seemed like some here missed what actually happened…which for the record makes me very impressed with your results in the end.

Bauber is a beast. And has inspired me to make the jump to a lean 250. God help me I hope I live through it lol.

I think it helps overall in the long run as well. Cooking your own food most of the time as if you ever decide to do a show, you will be cooking all of your food or most of it.

I am the type that can look at food and gain weight. Has its pros and cons like everything else.

I must have missed where I was referenced lol.

But that is essentially it through trial and error and help from various people more knowledgeable than me. I try to go by a 90 - 10 rule. 90% of the time I eat what I have to or supposed to and 10% of the time I eat whatever I feel like.

Actually, it was said that he always ate cleaner…when he wrote himself that he dirty bulked at first and changed it…which is the same thing I did.

It does appear; based on the pics in the RMP thread; that you did spend some time with the ‘full house’ look…perhaps that was early on? And you have been clear that your bulks are assisted correct?

Oh I definitely had the full house look as I started earlier on. I really clamp my diet a little cleaner when assisted and yes I am assisted. When assisted I will just pack on weight fast and a lot depending on what I eat. So, if I eat more shit I will pack on more shit weight. I still keep my carbs high, but from good complex carbs.

But like Prof X said early on I bulked dirty and gradually moved towards cleaner. It has not only helped my quality of muscle, but also keeping me healthier.

For what it’s worth, I am the one that referenced you, Bauber. Professor X seems to think that he has “won the argument” now that he has pointed out that you did, indeed, “dirty bulk” at one point like he did. I did say that you, now, eat clean year round. I didn’t, however, say that you have in your entire lifting career eaten clean. I simply said that, after all this time, the conclusion you have come to is that eating clean, or “clean bulking”, is the more healthy and effective method. If I came to the wrong conclusion, I apologize. I, in no way, want to start problems for Bauber or make his personal life the topic of debate. I merely listened to what he said and came to the conclusion that, if he had to pick a bulking approach, it would be “clean bulking”. I really don’t want this to become another argument and am not sure why it was even brought up. Bauber is a good guy and doesn’t deserve to be used as a tool for Professor X’s arguments.

Also, X, I like the advice you were giving in the “Fat loss stalling” thread. I think the OP was a whack-job though.

Bro it is all good. Reference me as much as you like not going to start any problems with me. You came to the exact conclusion I was trying to get across. To me it seems we are all saying the same thing and reaching the same conclusion.

I have an idea that gaining a bit more fat initially can be faster for muscle growth, getting your body used to a new weight then growing muscle into that weight. But its a but anecdotal so might be nonsense

Like the prof I never wanted to eat much when young so no surprise I stayed too thin when first training waiting for that appetite without realising that it needed some training too

Just something else I feel like should be stated, as it’s sad how much this is overlooked or neglected. In addition to eating enough to give your body the nutrients it need to grow, you should be sleeping like you want it too. None of that, “Oh, I stayed up until four in the morning partying and then got up at nine to do it all again!” crap. Your body recovers damaged cells, primarily, when you sleep. So, you can eat all damn day. However, if you aren’t allowing your body to rest enough, why bother? There’s no point in doing things half-ass. EAT, SLEEP, GROW.
