Building a PWO Shake

I’m really low on Surge Recovery. Probably got enough for another week and I can’t place another order till Nov 1st. I have Whey Isolate and creatine, but what would be the most effective carb source for building a pwo shake? I won’t drink anything besides Surge Workout Fuel preworkout so I take Surge Recovery as stated on the tub and a meal an hour later. I know CT says this is outdated but it has been very effective for me the last two months.

Anyone have any ideas on what I can add to it? Nesquick, powdered Gatorade, something else?

Thanks guys.

Search for high GI carbs. (glicemic index)

Brown sugar and Honey are two easy options.

Protein powder+oats for me.

I believe studies have shown that the carb source does not have to be high gi for postworkout.

It is more of a personal preference, there is no right or wrong shake combo. Just do whay works for you and your goals.

gatorade powder during and white bread after would do the trick as far as carbs go.

Brown sugar and honey are both high in fructose - too slow digesting. Go with pure corn syrup (which is 100% glucose). Karo is the most popular brand.

Pineapple Juice/creatine mono/leucine/bcaa’s/protein

If you need a cheap option, Oatmeal in my opinion is easy to get and works really well.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Bananas digest fast, could always chop some up.

x2

BUT, PWO carbs are so last year lol
it is effective, simply, not the best solution

Vitargo from Nutrex or Volugrow is what it is called now. it is Waxy Maize starch and creatine. I liked it.

X2 on no rasberry Surge it is backordered :frowning:
