Have you also been using some longer press commands? Sometimes judges can be picky and it feels like it’s literally on your chest for hours. I find it best to work with press commands of varying lengths so you don’t anticipate and jump the command.
I’ve seen (and heard from those that have been around longer) that some judges are a bit tighter on the females with making sure there is no movement of the bar before issuing a press. That’s IPF though and, well, that pretty much sums it up…
PS. I guess it makes sense about the belt, but with bench I breath into my chest to make it bigger/higher so I feel a belt would just get in the way… now it’s necessary with my shirt, but even then it pisses me off sometimes and gets in the way of my arch.

Last week he worked on varying the commands quite a bit. I am usually better about holding it down on my chest a little longer but for some reason I had it in my head that he wasn’t going to give me a press command (I’m not quite sure why I thought this.) It will be interesting to see what the press command is like at the NASA meet. I won’t have anything to compare it to, so I guess it doesn’t really matter. I assume that’s a real good reason to go pretty light on the first attempt, so I can get a feel of the commands.
It doesn’t really bother me to have the belt on and I do noticed that I push through my stomach harder when I have it on. Maybe it is one of those preference things.

My weak spot is rolling my right heel up a bit. That’s why I bench in my squat shoes that have a heel.

Thanks Ouro. A little bit of awesomeness mixed with lots of bafoonery is the way I like it. Molly, on the other hand, likes to be awesome all the time and hates it when other people are in the slightest more awesome than her and then proceeds to knock them down so she can feel as if she has regained her awesomeness (pointless side jab at Molly because I hate her and her Pepe mustache today ;).
I don’t know if anyone has been watching my butt and feet. There is so much to concentrate on besides actually lifting the weight. I really hope I put it all together for the meet.

Tell me about it now that I’m giving my squat some much needed rx. Elbows down, head in, belly breath, knees out. ffs, I can’t walk in a straight line some times. hahaha.
I got to the gym early and did about 20 minutes of ball/foam rolling and mobility work! I had to leave early because of stuff at school so, no assistance work today. I will do it tomorrow after sledding and (ugh) croc rows.

The weight seems to feel easier as I increase it. 230 felt pretty easy.
