Budda's weight gain log...

Thanks Dre, KSman and BBB think the RBC count will drop and cause a virtually instant drop which will hopefully set the numbers straight. Maybe this illness has something to do with it as well? I don’t see how it can help!

Although abnormal blood work numbers are normal on cycle LOL, I’m going to revert back to a TRT dose (already have in fact) to help get the numbers back so a baseline can be established before I blast again. Its all self inflicted (apart from, I believe this flu cough or whatever the fuck it is) so its my job to self un-inflict it!

Heres the blood-work thread…

I’m fortunate that BBB and KSman bother offered up help and advice very quickly. I’m confident if I follow it I’ll be back on track in no time! I was tempted to not get blood work and be blissfully ignorant, but I’m glad I did now, I can certainly attest that you can feel great whilst having, for example, elevated cholesterol.

Also the AAS, combined with the sheer volume of crap I was eating on some days, plus not having done cardio for months was bound to yeild some consequences, how could it not?

Its day five of antibiotics, and I’m starting to feel a bit more human today! No workout yet as I’m still quite tired from work but I’m definitely seeing light and the end of the tunnel.

My diet has been awesome the last couple of days now I’m trying to lower my cholesterol and my blood draw is scheduled for this week, which I’m hoping will effect a pretty instant improvement. I’ve got a lot of driving tomorrow so as long as recovery continues I think I’ll try and train Wednesday.

Day five of antibiotics, feeling better but not 100%. Think I’ll try and train tomorrow early.

Good patient job of waiting. Even on Antibiotics, even after 5 days, you can stress your CNS out and make it hard for the Antib to work. Good job waiting it out.

I went on Ebay a couple weeks ago, and got two elbow sleeves, size small, black, elastic somewhat. Got em in the mail yesterday, from HONG KONG !!! FIVE bucks a piece, and they are great ! Probably won’t last forever, but for five bucks…

“Goddamn good milkshake, I dunno whether its worth five bucks or not, but a Goddamn good milkshake.”

I ate some shit today as I spent almost 8 hours driving but other than that diet has been good since I got my bloodwork back. I won’t try and overdo it tomorrow, just be a light upper body session then, the next workout will be a light lower body session. After that I’ll hopefully be ready to train ‘full time’ again.

TX: I tried to wear elbow sleeves but the ones I bought were terribly uncomfortable and I have up! And I paid £20 for mine :frowning:

Just tried to have a workout but started coughing and nearly threw up warming up :frowning:

Glad to hear you’re all better mate and easing back into things seems like the sensible approach. Look forward to seeing what your new diet looks like too!

ah shit, just saw this after posting! unlucky mate, finish the course of anti-biotics and see how you get on. Hang in there dude!

Thanks Dre, I’m kinda better, like better than I was, which is good, but still ill in that I can’t train and going out and breathing the cold air makes me cough, real fucking hard! Back to doctors tomorrow, finished antibiotics today. I had a massive sex session Sunday night and thought I was a bit better on Monday, but I think it was just the exercise that temporarily picked me up LOL.

ha its funny you say that mate. When i was in Cuba last year i got really ill. And i mean really ill!! to the point where i was meant to fly home and i was worried i simply wouldnt be able to. Could barely move out of bed. Yet somehow, the night before we left i managed to get the strength together to shag the ex mrs for half hour, and i mean really going at it. Then I collapsed on the bed with a ridiculous fever and could barely move. Its amazing how sex can make you feel better, even if only for the shortest of times.

Have you tried sticking your head over a boiling bowl of water with a good dollop of vicks in there? I absolutely hate it but i tell you what, when i’ve got a cough or i’m bunged up it really does the trick! I usually cough my ass off afterwards but it does help. Might be worth a try mate if you havent tried already.

Old School Dre, I love it. We still are able to find mustard packs, and heat em up and put em on the kids chests ! That and tabassco or some other hot sauce really warms up your inards, and helps you cough stuff loose.

Sounds like you just enjoy torturing your poor kids!

Only joking - i bet that works too! and they certainly wont be bunking off school pretending to be ill out of fear of the dreaded mustard pack… lol

Its a win win

Thanks TX, I’ll try that.

Dre: Fucking ex’s is always a problem-how is the motivation always there?

Right, I went back to the doctors today and reported a slight improvement but complained I was still very much infirm.
She used a stethoscope to look for a chest infection again but found nothing so prescribed me 2 inhalers, an instant and a 2 week one. I started using them today and feel better already, she said that the cold air will really irritate my throat/chest virus (whatever it is) and the inhaler alleviate the coughing until the virus is cleared.

I decided today if I can’t work out soon I’ll explode so I hit up my new inhaler as prescribed and managed to do a little workout. I didn’t go to my shed gym (not outdoor but close enough, would have induced a ball aching coughing fit) so I got my 20KG kettle bell and trained indoors.

5 x 20 swings
10 x 5 presses left and right.

Not much but I always used the KB when I was short on time, makes for a brief full body workout, hits most muscle groups and gives a CV benefit, too. Not much but its a start. I’m gonna try and get an upper and lower body workout in again before Monday.

I told my GF when we do our next big S

I had to go to main gym office last week, F and Sat, to do a thing for all the trainers. We learned, and worked out, to Art of Strength. Learn KB’s, those big blue dumbells with the wider handles, and the rope loop things that hand like TRX. That stuff is like THE EASIEST way to work out your whole core or whole body all at once, and put your Heart rate through the roof !!! I’m older than all the other trainers, and it gassed me out so bad I was in the bathtub most of Sunday.

I would much rather lift HIT ANYDAY…I lift for 30 seconds, then walk around or sit for 2-3 minutes… It’s the only way I can add muscle and size anymore.

Lifted yesterday afternoon…weighed in before I started, and I finally got 204 !!! First time ever. Did Back and Calves…trying to stay away from anything elbow related.
Also, starting to do more controlled and cable lifts for Pull…to protect the elbows.

Budda - she wasnt my ex at the time, we were very much together. Well done for getting the lift in mate. I go mental too when i cant lift for any longer than about 5 days. Drives me up the wall.

Tx - good stuff on the weight man. Yeah those trx type workouts can be seriously draining. I’m only 25 and i stay well clear of them for fear of embarassment!

It’s quite funny. I am a guy, and when all the younger guys do whatever the excercise is, with a lot of weight, I fall victim to my ego and go ahead and show them that I can lift the same weight they are, and most of the time more. BUTTT, I have to be smarter than that…trying to outlast a bunch of 25 year olds for 4 hours KILLS !!! Esp when my HIT workouts are like a total of 45-50 minutes…MAX. With a ton of rest between sets too.

It would be smart to just do all the stuff with really light weights, knowing I have to last for a few hours…huh… (Arrow through my own head on that one !

Budda, I hope you get better soon bro. This may be broscience, but anytime I ever start feeling under the weather, I jack up my calories tremendously, usually eating 5000kcal and 400+g protein for a few days. I always feel that giving my body as much ‘fuel’ to fight the sickness, the better… but then again I very rarely get sick or puke, so take what I say with a grain of salt

Good work TX! 204 is good going

I finally started to feel better thanks to this inhaler and made it to the gym after work, gonna hit legs tomorrow.

Pull ups total: 15 (hard due to, I think, weak biceps)

parallel close grip pull ups: 50

dips: 50

Incline BP 50x8 60x5 x10 70 x6 x3

Band triceps ext over head 4 x 20

Curls x 15 x10 (my biceps are non existent so the chins worked them hard).

I feel pretty good, best I’ve felt since I got ill. I had 2 mars bars pre workout of course and have been off the red meat since I got my cholesterol results.

Thanks Spidey, I haven’t been ill all year, I was ill a lot last year (more than I’ve ever been) with upset stomachs but that was from overeating I think. I usually just get colds, I put this down to being run down often because I rarely get enough sleep, I’m just a really light sleeper unfortunately.

I agree though I always eat as much as I can when I’m ill, I just ram down the calories, I do believe it works somehow!
