I’ve eaten really well today and yesterday, low carbs and no shit! I need to remember there’s less margin for error on a HRT dose of test and I’m still supposed to be watching my cholesterol :-(, OK, I had a bacon and sausage panini earlier, but fuck it…
Right, I was going to rest today but I thought I’d add a short ‘catch up/extra workout’, catch up in that it’s going to target my lagging upper arms and chest. I decided to add in a flying movement for chest which is something I’ve never done but it felt very unnatural. Seeing as I’m just trying to add size to these areas (I train them with bands and triples and stuff so this is an exclusively ‘BBing WO’) I decided to try pre exhausting for the first time-and man did it work! I could hardly take my top off after my arms and chest were so tired!
incline DB press warm up 2 x 15
fly’s x 10
band pushdown x 15
fly’s x 10
band pushdown x 2- x 15
x 10 biceps curls
fly’s x 11
biceps curl x 10
incline BP 50 x 6, 60 x 8 x10 x 6 x6
biceps x 12
took less than 30 mins
Good to see you smashing it up again mate, looks like you got your appetite back big style! lol
One thing i remember reading from Dorian Yates a while back and i thought of when i saw your diet was he mentioned staying away from eating too much turkey. Reason being is due the large size of the bird and profit margins, the farmers tend to pump them full of estrogen so their breasts grow a lot bigger, even the male ones!!
Obviously when we then eat them we’re consuming the estrogen too. He said nothing wrong with having a little here and there but should be avoided if possible. Thought i’d pass on the info.

Thanks Dre, I’ve heard that somewhere else too; I’m not TOO worried though as I take Arimidex (an AI) as part of my HRT to keep my E levels in low range. I’ll ask BBB about that though to see what his take is and let you know. Thanks Dre I hope you and TX have a great Xmas
I didn’t feel fully recovered today but I had a pretty decent sleep last night and manipulated my insulin sensitivity and complemented it with a relentless drink earlier today (the most effective stimulant drink IMO) and made for a pretty decent workout.
LEGS:
FRONT SQUAT wearing converse and no harness: 60 x 3 x 3, 70 x 3, 80 x 3, x3, 90 x3, 100 x3, 110 x1
SAFETY SQUAT BAR GOOD MORNING (deep) 55 x 10, 65 x 6, 75 x5, 85 x5 x5 These are quite new to me so I was quite conservative.
WIDE BELT SQUAT, very short rests and as wide as I could whilst breaking parallel 60 x5, 80 x5, 90 x3, 100 x3, 110 x3 120 x 1.5 ( this was very heavy for me and I’d rested no longer that it took to load the plate and record the last reps. hindsight is an exact science I should have rested longer or gone for the single)
The last two weeks, I have gotten in a good squat/leg day, a good chest day, a good shoulder day, and a good Tri/Calves day. Can’t get to Biceps yet, elbows…and avoiding Pull stuff too, same reason.
The last two times I have done chest, I started with 4-5 sets of Flat Bench with Dumbells. And both days, on the last couple sets, I have accidentally banged the Dumbells together and pinched a finger. It goes numb for two days, then slowly comes back. Friday, I did it to my pointing finger, and luckily there was ice cold water in the fountain and I put it in there about 5 times between different things…kept the numbness down.
Friday got two sets on Flat Bench done with the 100’s, got 12 reps in both sets. Then I went to the SMITH and did 275 for two sets of ten.
I think I need to do much more Incline. Been trying to up the weight on flat so much the last month, I am getting stronger but not gaining much size.
TX: Sounds good man; I rarely do flat bench unless it’s with bands.
Upper body (chest/triceps)
Seated OH press: bar x20, x10 40kg x 8, 50KG x 5,x5,x5,x3 60kg x3, 65 x3, x3, 50 x8
calves loads of sets and reps
incline BP: 50 x 6, 60 x8, 70 x3
fly’s 2 x 20
incline BP 60 x 7
fly’s x 20
60 x8 x6
2 x20 band pushdown
curls x 15 x20
I nearly gave up after the OH press’s as my triceps weren’t fully recovered from the pre exhausting but I cracked on. I’m so used to FBWO’s and compound exercises that I forgot a workout like this won’t tax recovery too much. It seems clear now that my upper arms and chest won’t grow much from indirect work so in the interest’s of overall growth I’m gonna need to throw these additional BBing workouts in.
Been okay since August, last sinus infection…till today ! Looks like I am headed in to see Doc in the morning. That will most likely mean taking the week off of training…not good.
Started Antibiotics yesterday, have to rest for a few days and stay out of the gym to make sure they work. Lookin at maybe going back in on Saturday or something…
I ordered a TENS machine, a little 20 dollar portable deal, that does both TENS and Muscle Stim. Gonna hook it up on one of my elbows and see if I can get it to help the tendonitis a little bit. Couldn’t pass up the idea for 20 bucks !!!

If you think I can help more than the steroid forum please go ahead…

Get well soon TX my man! We’re dropping like fucking flies!
I got so fucking wasted on boxing day it wasn’t fucking true… Went out about 1400 and got home at like 0700 the next morning. The recovery was awful. I still feel spaced out today but made it into work yesterday and today and finished early so I managed a leg workout somehow…
LEGZ: front squats (don’t like that harness so I’m racking the bar on my front delts as normal) 60 x 6, 70 x 5, 80 x 4, 90 x 3, x4, x4, x 3, x 5
Calves in between sets of front squats 50 x 12, 60 x 15, 70 x 12, 80 x12, x12 x6
belt squats no lockout: 60 x 10, 70 x10 with lockout 80x10, 80 x10
Started doing an upper body workout of parallel grip chins, warmed up then added 10KG I’d done a total of about 35 chins then got called back to work. It wasn’t going that well (as In I wasn’t feeling fully recovered) anyway so no drama.
After the damage I did myself on Boxing day I don’t think I’ll be going out tomorrow anyway.
I’m into new years resolutions so much, I believe in making and implementing changes as and when they are necessary but as the new year is nearly upon us I’ll make note of a few things I’ve been meaning to change and have to an extent or have but have been slacking on:
No coke. My new girlfriend hates this and I hadn’t done it for months and didn’t miss it but got drunk on boxing day with my friends and got bang on it. All I need to do is not get drunk around the wrong people there is NO benefit to doing it whatsoever.
Caffeine: being a student now and having a varying schedule I don’t think I can eliminate this as the benefits out-way the cons; however the least I can do is stick to the sugar free stuff and restrict intake somewhat.
Diet: I’m having my cholesterol re tested in mid Jan. I’ve cut out red meat completely, had a blood draw and come off my ‘blast’ and onto a HRT dose of test. The session on boxing day won’t have helped and the fact all of this happened around Xmas whilst Ben and jerry’s ice cream is half price hasn’t assisted me but I intend to try and implement some long term healthy eating strategies like more fruit and veg, or at least start buying those ‘greens’ supplements (which are overpriced IMO). I’m going to aim for (with the odd exception of course):
five fruit and veg a day, I find apples easiest and I love fajitas so I can go mad with the peppers
multi vitamin ED plus the b-complex ED and D3 for my Cholesterol and liver
No red meat
turkey rashers and sausages for breakfast
no sweets (I’ll miss my haribo)
no ice cream
no pizza
I’ll have to explore new ways of taking in tons of calories on leg days.
No more steroid ‘blasting’ until blood work is sorted out.
I’m going to knock the porn on the head and try that, ‘yourbrainonporn’ re booting thing.
carry on saving up and certainly not get into debt for anything that won’t increase in value.
Training: chest, arms and calves need bringing up and I need to outline my training goals for the year, the weight-gain is on hold for health reasons, at least hell-for-leather-bulk-eating is. I’m going to concentrate on:
palms forwards pullups (I suck at these)
chest and arm BB work, I like pre exhausting
good mornings-I did these the other day and feel beaten up in a ‘good this will help my DL kind of way’
shrugs/ shrug bar DL’s
and of course thigh and calf work
I may join a commercial gym near me to try and get some regular training partners to help push me but my schedule is so varied I’m not sure if it would be realistic.

I love how Pragmatic you are Sir !!! You make great sense.
For example, Get drunk around different people, who hopefully don’t have any Coke !!!
Fortunately Christmas is over, so they hopefully they will put Ben n Jerry’s back at
full retail !!!
No debt on stuff that does not increase in value. Well said my friend. The only thing we owe on is our home. Knock off the highest interest rate balance first. And don’t try to do it all at once…use banking online and send the fuckers $ 5 - $ 10 every Friday… We pay as much as we can on a weekly basis, it cash flows so much better.
The more people you are around in the gym that do similar stuff as you, the more you will show up cause you know that they expect to start seeing you… hmmmm
I ordered a “Digital Mini TENS/Muscle Stim” Unit for $ 19.95, USD last week. Got a few other deals, and got the order at no cost shipping. The thing comes with 5 settings for TENS, and 5 for Muscle Stim. Put the two 2" x 2" pads on my arm, one above the elbow, and one on my forearm. Turned it up to level three on the first Muscle Stim setting, and did it for 20 minutes. You could see my arm muscles jumping, and when I hung my wrist, it moved with every pulse.
Did that for 20 minutes, and the tendonitis was 80% better literally overnight !!!
I am doing ART on it myself, to the best of my recollection from seeing the Dr a couple
weeks ago, and I think that is breaking up the scar tissue that has been building up. Then
the STIM unit helped that even further.
I am amazed DAILY about what you can buy on the internet !!! It’s the same type of
deal an Accupuncturist uses …looks a lot like hers.
Like the new years resolutions mate. The coke thing makes me laugh, i can relate, very much so!
As for the joining a commercial gym, you know where i’m at matey, Putney leisure is calling lol…
The debt thing is sounds advice like tx pointed out. I think everyone could do with taking it on board and as for the food, you’re making me feel guilty!
I’ve nearly paid off everything I owe and started saving, I had a bad year last year what with the recession and stuff (wasn’t ready for it at all) so I ended up falling behind but even with this year being pretty slow I managed to just scale things down and get most of it paid back off. I also kept myself busy with Law school during the additional time I had spare but that has meant I haven’t been able to work as much so I just need to manage my time effectively and keep training, earning and learning.
Re the coke I hadn’t touched it for ages, and I actually prefer just getting drunk-I can actually recover pretty well from a hangover but I caught up with all my old friends boxing day and things just spiraled out of control… Also staying off that shit benefits my training and bank balance and like I said there’s no practical benefit to doing it whatsoever, unless perhaps you’ve got a filthy woman who gets even filthier but even then I’m not sure if the cost to benefit analysis permits it anymore.
TX I suppose it is pragmatic LOL, but I have different friends who don’t touch the stuff which makes it lovely to go out and have a few civilized drinks and get in at midnight, whereas other friends will go out and think nothing of getting in at midday the next day!
