Hey Snap! It is too far. It sounds like a great place that’d check all my boxes but its a good twenty five minute drive according to google maps, about 14 miles.

I’ve become super spoiled in my neighborhood of everything being way close. I can’t wait to be able to walk to work next March when our new hospital is done.

I just got some good news— me and my work buddy’s plan a few weeks ago actually worked. We met with the medical director and presented our case, we did our homework, worked on the presentation, calm and cool and streight up-- had a few visuals etc.

My clinic sent an email out . Long and short of it was wages are being upped, and you know what!!! It was due to me and my partners effort!! Really!! My partner and I! And I am proud!!! WE did that. No buts about it, WE DID THAT.

BACK EXTENSIONS. I splurged and got a cheapo back extension chair for my house. $90 and it works just fine! I like back extensions .

I am finally strong enough to do sorta static-not dead hang pull ups.

My own body was never able to really do a pull up that way, contrary to others thoughts personally I believe a non dead hang rep after the first rep IS harder-- you have to be able to hold that stretch if it makes sense. I seriously have the thinnest of upper back muscle to start with but its slowly coming. Anywho, I am enjoying this new ability and feel it for sure.

A lot of catching up in here; sounds like things are coming around finally. Slow, but improving. Back raise/hip extension piece is cool. I’m a big fan of those myself.

I will be one of the others. Having done a whole lot of both dead hang is much tougher than non dead hang pullups. Non dead hang= 3/4 squat dead hang= full squat would be my analogy. There is a reason very few people perform dead hang pull ups. They aren’t strong enough to do them but can do partials.

Dbashler! I will attempt to take a video to show what I mean. They might have a different name than non dead hangs that would make sens but MAN I feel them! Also I have quite long arms so dead hangs are about all I could start from.

Is this getting old? Or me just not training well for 5 weeks? I feel like I’ve lost a marked degree of muscle. I feel thinner but not better.

This has never happened to me, usually when I am not training well I plump up unless I am doing a ton of cardio instead then I thin out. Gotta pump it up and fill those muscles up some. My legs and bummy for sure. Why not add some reps ?

This and stress.

Once things get back to a regular pattern, you’ll feel better.

Definitely this; first thing I thought of. Stress from work/Moss, not training or eating to maintain lean muscle, poor sleep…all adds up. The good news is, because you chose the right parents, you always start a few notches above those ‘regular’ people. :wink:

But I really have to dial back my expectations. I can’t really expect massive feats if I don’t really do more then 20 minute lifting days. Its not a rag on myself but its a reality check that I can’t expect a ton if I don’t put in a ton. MEH. A part of me is disappointed in myself but the other part knows I have more in me if I had the true desire to do so. I suppose I’m not that hungry for it.

Slow hole to China continues. I am slightly changing my lifting day stuff though, just a wee bit.

Thanks Eric! Its just life I suppose. And thanks! I am pleased with the 345 for being fairly useless in the gym for weeks. Today was a continuation of that, but it was ok since I felt useful to the animal patients at least.

Called in at 1am Wednesday, worked 12 hours of busting ass with triage’s plus 24 inpatients. Tried to get sleep last night and I did about 6 hours but it was full of judgmental and stressful dreams–disappointing my parents somehow at an airport, somehow being responsible for someones kid (?). The night before was fairly similar with awful caught in embarrassing situation dreams.

Work kept calling me while I was sleeping but I needed to sleep so I ignored them. I picked up the phone though at the 2am call on my day off, worked 2am to 8am on a dog who was trying to bleed out. Took a nap–better dreams but still strange people in it–then lifted this afternoon. I am pleased for what I got in, not a real charmer of a lifting day but it was on low sleep and all my body parts still work.

Now I get to chill with my Beautiful Boy Mossimo. My house no longer smells like a barn. I splurged and got a bad ass black licorice scented candle and am MOST PLEASED. I just need black licorice lotion or deodorant to be swathed in deliciousness 24 hours a day.
