Malibu walk!

COOL! Man , you know? I really like that smith machine!!! The level of burn on the 1/4 squats is serious! No wonder I had big ol legs when I first started lifting wt’s. It was my ROM. I only 1/4 squatted - everyday sure, but not full rom, no full lockout, but pop and pop- tension tension tension. I feel FABULOUS!

Its so refreshing to change the pace. I really am enjoying this new training style I got going. It actually feels good! I know I still have the one rep max monster on my back that pushes me to do heavier and heavier, more and more–but I’ll tell you what this different type of training actually feels so good it very well could be enough to change that monsters hold.

Knowing ( allowing myself that) I don’t face ( even though it has always been self imposed ) CNS draining, taxing , aim for the energy drain, wear myself out workouts ahead of me has been a surprising gift I have given to myself. It kinda has ended up that way too on its own. Its part of the sea change I’ve experienced in myself this last 2 ish years.

I think my body is appreciating it as well! I feel good…and I think I look better too. :D! I’ve always lifted for myself, and I still do. Now I have a different compass guiding me. I feel good!

I love my log! It works great!

Yesterday it came and getting it out of the box I was afraid it was too heavy . I could barely push press it! However, it also was 30 mins before my bedtime and low and behold I just wasn’t primed properly to lift.

I worked an over night shift last night, came home , walked my Beautiful Girl, napped, showered, had a coffee with sugar free peppermint mocha creamer, popped on a Martin’s Licis YouTube vid and I was good to go!

I think my home log work will work out just fine! I also slurged on $17 bands from China that you can stick in the door to do all kinds of stuff! They work great!!!

While I lifted at home I supersetted the 20 min it took for the lil session with activating my sunblock for a nother Malibu Gorgeous Super Smelly Walk ( she sniffs the whole time and LOVES it! Around 2 ish miles)

Scored a bunch of candy today too from my job! It’s National Vet Tech Week! Hug your nearest tech! We’re pretty badass :wink:

I think this would be a problem for me. I don’t think I could press it empty at this point. But it looks way cool, and you make it look easy.

They have a 8 inch one, that is 53#! For $127 ish bucks. Titan fitness! I think you could do that just seeing your barbell lifts!

I nearly got that one, since all logs are pretty different with spacing on the handles, the diameter etc…and I was afraid the one I got (75#) would be too hard even though it technically is a wt I’d pressed before a different log is a different lift.

I couldn’t do a strict press with the log I started with myself either, when I tried logging for the first time. I had to use leg drive. Eventually I could do it without the leg drive.

For sure the push press/leg drive
reps helped me get stronger overhead- and now I prefer strict press oh stuff since its much easier on the knees and lower back!

I think you’d rock a log! Whether you make it yourself or score a lady log/smaller log to start!

Hmmmm. Well now I will have to go check it out! I could probably do 53.

I promised myself I would run 5/3/1 HG till the end of the year so I could put some muscle back on. It’s all I can do not to test my 1 RM :roll_eyes: I am trying to stay strong (like will power wise) and stay focused. I feel that I am making decent progress and my strength levels are almost back to where they were. But after the first of the year I am want to go back to more fun lifting.

A log sounds pretty damn fun to me!

It is fun! I hope you can find one for you! Also…in my opinion 5/3/1 is effective – for men. Us ladies- I think at least- need more reps! More reps, more everything for progress!

I definitely get impatient with speed at which it progresses, I run that one because it’s a no brainer. So I won’t overthink it. I always want to do everything all at once. Basically it saves me from myself. Hope thay makes sense.

The strongman stuff has always seemed appealing because it looks like fun! And that’s why I am doing this right? Because it makes me happy!

I am thinking by the end of the year Santa will bring me a new toy. It just may be a log.

The World Ultimate Strongman is going on! Looks like Brian Shaw is still not himself, or is faced with a ton of competition again for this show. I don’t want to jinx who I personally want to win since he is one of my favorites. My top five are in no order Novikov, Mateusz, JF Caron, Prichet, maybe Brian too.

There are so many cool lifters! I like Shivlyakov as well- he s one of my favorites too!

that’s that! COLD! SNOW! I need some chalk! I picked up some liquid chalk and my review is it sucks. It takes forever to dry, and feels like it doesn’t help much for grip at all, its very strange!

I had some real chalk in my gym bag and I ran out, so this was my big experiment. The result is liquid chalk is LAME!!!

No gym today…but a BADASS TWIN SISTER to log! My car battery is dead and she is on the way at 2am to jump it! There’s another storm on the way today with a lot of snow so now clue if I’ll be able to get out much in the next two days except work and whatever walks I can get for my girl.

Now THAT is the type of person you want in your life! How do you repay something like that?

That’s something I do struggle with- truly. Asking for help is hard for me, not because I think I can do it all because I know I can’t - but being a burden to anyone is my absolute WORST nightmare. I take all my personal responsibilities very seriously…I’ll do my best to try and do it on my own before asking for help, because I don’t want to be a bother.

Trying to figure out a way to pay back people for the wonderful things they do for me. I do wonder if I have the same effect in their life that they do in mine… I think the best I can do- a lot of times- is make sure they know how much I appreciate it! She’s got a 12 pk of mountain dew and some maple oreos and a huge hug!

The same twin who went searching for my stolen car for weeks, who helped me get a piece of septum jewelry out of my nose that was stuck for 8 years, that’s just 2 of millions of things she’s helped me with-who’s just done so much for me. :smiley: She doesn’t ask for anything back, just is happy to help!

I like helping people too. Its a gift to give another person to let them help you. I had a relationship with someone who wouldn’t let me or even allow me to help them at all-- and that hurt a lot. Might not hurt every type of person, but it hurt me as someone who likes to help. Turns out his reasons for doing that were even more hurtful and awful then the act of being shut out. And that’s why he’s no longer in my life.

Have people in your life who want the best for you, who respect you enough to tell you when you are messing up, who have your back! Who will come and help you!

Back stabbers get the door! The contrast between my sister who comes to help me, and the past relationship are striking.

I’m too old for feeling sorry for anyone who hurts me and asks me to be ok with it. Or people who deny that they hurt you like they are in charge of your feelings, the men who try and manipulate me some way for me to feel sorry for them for hurting me.

Or the man who tells you family doesn’t count. In case you haven’t picked up by now that relationship burned a big ol scar in me to remind me to wise up and dump the bozos, their on the surface seemingly slight sarcastic and stupid words really do a ton of damage. They do it that way so they can always back out of their own words like the cowards they are. I intend to keep that scar to keep me in check in the future.

That’s that! The stones. Someone decided to write numbers on them that I think are lies. The 107# suddenly has both 107# and 160 on it, then the 140 stone has 150 on it and 140 crossed out. Now THAT’s a metaphor for life! HA HA!

A good last turbo gym session. Maybe I’ll go back in a few months if I totally loose it and miss all the toys. Either way its a good break for me and my body with the cns demand strongman fun is! It is defiantly BOTH!! It also will just make reuniting with all the strongman toys that much more special if it happens!
