HA HA!!! WORD! I’m glad you had a good time in Cali! I hope you got some good beach and nice weather in!!

Some times I feel like going to the beach…but then I think twice… I was born and raised in southern California, on the peninsula, San Pedro to be exact. Most of my family is still there…but I kinda ran out of that state with my hair on fire never looking back!! California…is a nice place to visit but I advise all NOT to live there!!

Yeah I managed to do something strange to my left sorta top of pelvic bone to left lumbar area. Feel like a muscle strain but it keep me aware of its presence. I also think…my bed is probably not my problem with the sore back, stiffness all the time…its probably my back! I know I did something to it years ago squatting but …yeah.

I am going to experiment by sleeping on the floor or the couch the next two days if its possible to fall asleep there. Years of working overnights have made it extremely hard for me to fall asleep anywhere except my own bedroom, my own bed. I used to have to do the whole sleep ritual to trick my body to sleeping in the day. Now I work more like bar hours --4pm to 12 or 1 am so I can at least have the opportunity to fall to slumber in darkness.

I need to break myself of this because its a hassle! I seriously can’t sleep at anyone else house even if I’m totally exhausted, and I end up driving home super tired and not safely. I used to marvel at my ability to sleep anywhere, any time now its a struggle.

I’ve cut my caffeine intake way down to just in my morning…I could also work on totally exhausting myself more…or maybe I’ll get lucky and sleep on the couch.

bed experiment went …as I planned. Its ok, I guess its time to come to terms with the fact that I’ve got sores and aches for my activates, job, and lifestyle :{.

Could be worse. In tune with kinda listening to my joints I’ve backed off on the wt’d pull ups. They’ve been taxing my elbows a bit that I don’t like. Kinda make them feel very fragile so its bw only for a bit. My bw is quite enough for my poor elbows.

Have you ever taken ZMA??

I have taken it for a long time now and I bascially sleep perfectly every single night. I literally fall asleep at the same minute and wake up at the same minute every day, LOL!

HEY SPOCK!! I do indeed take ZMA, well started retaking it about a month ago after not having any for a good year, I couldn’t afford it. Its not as potent for me but I’m sticking with it if I can since I know i don’t get enough zinc and magnesium and whatever else is in it.

I feel my problem is I get very wound up and its hard to decompress from my job, or other stupid stuff I think about… But for sure ZMA is a goodie and I’m going to keep it up. Maybe it just takes a bit to get back on the wagon for it. Its bazaar, sometimes I get al into my vitamins and stuff then…for month they sit un used in my cabinet. I’ve not taken fish oil in forever. No reason! I just haven’t!! So might also be a part of my cracky joints.

Today was a quickie before court. I ended up with a $100 ticket instead of a $500 so I consider myself lucky. Over and done with.

that’s it. Back is feeling nearly nearly back to normal. One good thing I’ve picked up on this deload reload thing I’m going thru is using my abs far more on fronties, and then following up with bicep and upper back action up.

This week especially since I’m way hesitant and leery of staring my lower back at all so its been big breathes and BLOCKY SOLID ABS to hold and punch up with. Its a good reminder for me how I should depend on them more vs y usual flaring my lats out and elbows up. I can use both but my abs more able to oomph it and far stronger then my fish filet upper back muscles.

Also some how my more normal push press has developed in a more oly style pushy split jerk. I’m not complaining! It seems to make more sense now and its a less of a back bender to lock out. I’m not sure when this started but its working and I like it!
Maybe I can use it to pop more wt up…

But as a whole I am probably going thru a bit of a lazy distracted phase. You know how it is, get in a good few months of serious then not so much I’m on the not so much part. And that’s that!

Yay on getting the ticket lowered!

Someone brought their baby to my turbo gym today,…I mean it was little and just chilling in a car seat but…I’m not sure why this pissed me off! Maybe because it was a dude and he just kinda left it on on one the platforms…I dunno, unless they are guarded by protectors I seriously don’t think babies should be around flying wts.

Threw me off and made me pissed. Protect the baby! Don’t leave it in a car seat on the floor! Even with nothing aorund it still, there’s wts and a cage not even four feet away that I was using. But as I’ve been reminded, I as a non breeding (straight) adult just need to except that even silly people get babies. Lot of them do and its still my job to look out for the babies when the parents seem oblivious :{

AH 2b! I also remembered it was more then the angry at the bad baby daddy thing…the guy was BLASTING some serious soft rock. Like total grocery store music…just brought my momentum down to a slow freaking slow! no dentist music in the gym please :[

I’m looking at going to the Killswitch Engaged concert here in July. As I Lay Dying is one of the opening acts. I’m hoping they’ll play some of the Austrian Death Machine songs… :smiley:

Great Pullups. Mine are getting better, grips an issue.

Grip is a for sure weak point for me as well 2B on pull ups, usually the firs thing to go . I often wish someone was around to tape my hands to the bar so I could do more!

I am happy to hear the court showed mercy, they are not always known for that. Pull up numbers are still looking great. For the sleeping issue have you ever tried meditation? I have been a night shifter most of my adult life, I suffer the same things you described, wake up thinking about work and can not stay asleep. Do not sleep well at all away from home. Meditation seems to help but it has not eliminated the problem. The baby in the gym and lame music sounds like a workout killer to me. After seeing a few dropped weights I think it is the last place I would put a baby on the floor, even in a safety seat. I hope the back is getting better.

Hey HKD!! I’d have to really try hard to do that! I think I might be too meditative in my nature in a way as well…I internalize lots of things and swirl them… But then again I’ve never tried to meditate. I have trouble with those types of things, yoga , breathing exercise actually make me anxious, meditation…I feel its very frustrating for me.

Maybe I just need a dog.
