yes you can do pushups lol.

some people get all picky about holding your back real flat (like you could hold a stick along it) just like how they get all picky about planks… but your pushups are pretty good. maybe squeeze your ass a bit… but pretty good, yeah. bet you could belt out a hell of a lot more than me (which would be expected since you kick my ass on bench and pullups)

I noticed that about push ups too. Like a lot of things there are form nazis out there. We do a lot of them and I tend to have very wide hand placement very similar to how I bench. I like them for ab work too. I find when we do a shit ton of sets, I feel it the next day.

btw, Brute, your deads look great. I do the same thing for deficits with quarters. How did you find enough plates to do 270?

O! Thanks! I really apprciate the dl compliment…cuz god knows I’m feeling like I’ve been held back a grade in school:[ Lucky for me the powerlifting gym I do my dl’s at has a lot of 25’s laying around. AND a loader I use to load em all.

As for form fascism, right now I feel every lift I do now is looked at thru red commie colored glasses by myself for sure.

Here’s fronties from yesterday. Today I called off my bench attempt due to me not feeling like doing anything at all. Been napping and reading Cthulhu stories. Then watching Big Foot Hunters. Nigel also has decided to have the shits… so I’ll be cleaning my carpet all day too :slight_smile:

Squats looked good on depth, looks like you are looking straight forward. Maybe try looking up higher.

That helped me a lot on my form.

Review the EliteFTS Squat videos, they were a huge help to me.

Pushups looked good. I find the back form is better when you look at the ground about 18 inches in front of you instead of straight down.

Just popping in to say Hi and creep some vids. Owlie’s given you some great tips. And I think it was a stretchy band that O used to put across the rack to help her get used to depth. I remember thinking it was a clever idea.

Those are nice looking front squats. Wasn’t it just a couple of weeks ago that 190 for 2 was hard? It’s amazing how fast you get stronger. Once again, I was thinking of you when I did mine today.

well… you can do push-ups with your hands in narrower and also a little lower, say, in line with your boobies. that will hit your triceps more and your pecs a bit less. i’m actually stronger like that because that is how i’m used to doing them… you certainly don’t have to do them like that, though.

I’m far too emotional and spastic to go in the regular section. People get tired of hearing how I missed a lift because I was lamenting about some long ago battle. HA! :smiley: that’s why i think a coach could help but they’d have to put up with a few weeks of me being a deranged wierdo before I get the hint and take advice.

Alexus–yes…I think I should experiment with my pushups. Like O mentioned I can definitely use them for core work. I even noticed on a vid of me doing them how much I don’t tighten up. I need to do more core and more arm so hopefully I can figure a good sequence to to them.

I thinking I can do a pull up only day with push ups as well. I have to work up some major balls for this weeks assignment and I want to do it on a day I don’t do dl’s. Its strange though, I get all hyped up on dead day and afterwards usually feel really good but again grip is tired. I’ll figure it out.
