like the 2nd setup on the bench squats…you have to keep tight on the box, blow that belly out, squeeze that back together, keep hips tight until you sit on the bench, then only release the hips slightly, keep that back TIGHT. flare those knees out and power out.

It’s hard the first few times sometimes you’re still “searching” for the bench.

If you get “loose” on the first rep, take a second and get tight at the top again before the next rep.

I watched your bench squats. I have nothing of substance to add since I suck at them but you have awesome legs.

I have done box squats but they don’t feel right or helpful to me. I guess different things work well for different people.

I still lean on heavy weights but the good morning thing was rectified quite a bit by really forcing my elbows forward, keeping my chest high. In addition, I’ve been hitting a lot of core stuff lately and that’s helped immensely.

So the elbow thing really does work? Hearing you say that gives me a lot of hope. :slight_smile:

eyes forward and slightly up, chest up, elbows down and help push the bar up

if elbows are back or chicken winged, on a heavy weight you will go forward

On that note I have been relegated to a week of chin ups next week vs further pull up progress. I myself thought it was a huge feat to go from 10 sets of 4 to 10 sets of 5 for my assignment.

But I trust my pull up guru. And I was tired as shit tuesday when I gave it a ago. I’m still proud even though I fell short :slight_smile:

SPOCK–oh you know what? I just bet there’s something for deadsos that’s similar and we’ll hear about it in 4 years. It will probably be easy as well.

The most frustrating part for me is that I want to go and fix things right away and having to wait to recover a bit is lame. I get all hyped up then realize oh well shit my body’s limiting me! It needs stuff like rest and whatever. Food. Time twiddling my thumbs.

yeah, i got a similar thing from 10 sets of 2 to 10 sets of 3. i think the idea was to assess how many sets of 3 i could manage… didn’t get all 10 of them - but got a whole heap more than i thought i could!
