Brute's Book

solid work up there brute!!

And um, vids here too please. i can’t handle the Facebook thing.

Great work, you always keep me inspired. How did the 50 pull ups go? Sorry to hear about the busy nights. I thought you were getting off the night shift awhile back? I really enjoy the log.

Nice lifting!! But you always have nice lifting, so from now on just assume I think you’re lifting is nice so my posts don’t get redundant, ha.

So why is this the busy season?

actually i must be on the wrong track because of the whole utility of sumo pulling thing. my confusion. sorry.[/quote]

No worries, we have to try everything to see if it works. There’s a YouTube vid of Dave Tate teaching the DL that kinda gets into the leaning back. Pretty good stuff.

Hey alexus–haven’t done harry’s assignment yet. I was in shock that that was my next one!! last week was 10x4. I’m going after it with everything too, I want it bad!

I hope you get back into the chins, I cannot say how much they’ve helped me! i can even feel a serious change in body conformation in the mix. Please rejoin team pull up!!! We need you!!

!
LULA!!! Vids coming! I’ll post my ugly bitter battle from sunday

Spock! Thanks! Well, I work at a vet clinic. Its an ER, General Practice, Referal, giant hospital for pets. Summer typically gets busy because people get out more and their dogs get bite, cut, parvo, whatever. no real concrete reason but summer typically is BUSY AS SHIT for the ER.

HKD!!! My schedule is a lot better now. I work 4pm to 2am which is nights still, but a thousand times better on my body. Going to sleep in the dark is a treat I will never take for granted!!

today some dude were all over my rack I use for ohs. I blame my lack luster ohs day on these jerks! I really tried , but the changed setup fucked with my lifts.

ohs 135x5,140x5, 135x6…I was getting pissed at how hard it was to focus . My points of reference on th ewall ahead help keep me balanced and I was all thrown off. I probably did like 6 sets of 5-7.

switch to push press training
120x5, 125x4 x 2, 130x2 x 6 sets
work on squat form 175x5 x 2, 205x5 x3 sets. Better but the later rreps were bad in my fatigue.
stepmill 20 mins

Here’s Big Ugly fronties from sunday. I got all confusedas you can see and at first set up for a back squat.

Which brings up something. In my torturous confusing battle to fix my squat I came across a good article from elitefts. I need to change my set up, as in no more split stance set up. I think this will be indescribably frustrating to reprogram into my mind but also helpful in getting my upper back straight…the whole package.

I will get this. Its going to be a long process but I will.

I have long marveled that you stuck with this for so long. But interestingly, I was at the South Dakota state meet last weekend. And a whole lot of the lifters used a split stance for the liftoff. I think they must all have the same coach. Very rare to see among high-level lifters.

You should really come join me in the gym sometime. Have my coach give you feedback on your lifts. I won’t let him yell at you or ass smack.

Snap–> so there IS hope? Just kidding…kinda :{ Its just going to be a spinkey spiney bastard reprogramming my squat habits.

I can’t tell you how much you and the local’s here’s support means to me. And Maybe one day I can get over that hurdle as well----> actually getting hands on help. I’m hung up …and have shyness issues. :{

But I do have high hopes. As nerdy as this sounds–and NADIA, If you’re reading this, please smile because its because of your advice–the pull up program I started , like when? November? Has opened my eyes. A LOT. Adn it was just a simple thing that’s changed my direction. Matured.

I’m trying not be emotional in my lifts. I’m trying to be rational and logical, long term, and do things in steps rather then bounds just to prove whatever wild voice in my head is telling em to do. Maybe …mayeb I’l be able to take advantage of all the wonderful opportunity’s Denver has for us lifters. Absolutely no guaranteees, and really it’d surprise the socks off of me but it COULD happen. Stranger things have… like me doing a program :}

nice vid, Brute - way to hang in there and push it up.

I’ve been incorporating FS in my leg training lately, and it is different to wrap my mind around them from time to time~

still, nice pushing - you are inspirational~

-Edgy

hey Edgy  yeah…funny you say that because I have been trying to mess with my bar placement too. To get closer to my throat like O for better center of gravity action. I was SO confused sunday for some reason. :{ Earned a bruise on my shoulder as well.

today
deadlifts to knees 175x5,205x4 x 2 sets, 245x4 x 4sets
benching 75x5, 95x5 x 2 sets, 115x3 x 6 sets
deadlift 175x4, 205x4, 245x3x 2sets, 265x3, 255x3x3 sets, 260x3

These were ALL HARD. I tried my best to use the advise of locking my arms before the lift and my god did it make it a mind fuck. My ass and upper most hamstrings felt it though. I don’t know if this is the reason or if I was tired or what, but those deads were tough. My mp3 died on set 2 of the last ones.

I messed with some ghr and tried to box squat a tiny bit. Just basically trying to get my alignment right. The boxes available are not the right height, I tried a bench and it was ok but shakey as shit. I’ll post a vid so everyone can see my agony and horror as 245# deads feel like a thousand elephants worth of wt.

ATTENTION:

Stop being so hard on yourself!

You are a supa strong awesome girl, and you will continue to get supa strong(er)!!

MMkkaay?!

here some vids from today.
dl to knees 245. everything was a battle today

A  Thanks spock  I really appreciate it. I feels like the awkward teenage years for me in my lifts now. I feel like I’ve been crossfitt lifting in my own way for a long time. …Doing things pretty is fucking hard.

me trying to get aligned and stuff set up. I need to figure out a better box.

But it’s worth it!!

here’s another view. For some reason I DOUBT this is how you’re supposed to sit back, because if so I have a lot of work to do on not falling backward on the fucking box. This is …comical.

If its right please tell me so I can form a battle plan…get anchors on my feet or something

You’re going to have to play that on replay from now until forever Texi. UGHHH… worth it…nnnnfffhhha

pull up update here:

assignment was ten sets of 5. I got 8 sets of 5, then 2 sets of 4 and some change wild rep.

5 reps is a pr
here’s my 2nd set

congrats on your pullups! cool to hear that you have learned a lot from following the program. i have, too. i haven’t quit… it is just that my strength on them has taken a massive hit on them with non-ideal conditions. i need to report back and see where to from here rather than continuing on with my cunning plan of working back to where i was before myself.

i can’t see your pull ups :frowning:
