OH!!! DASHER!!! I love being thought of especially with ohs  Aren’t they wonderful? Make your butt feel cupped by invisible hands

All the single ladies should do them. Secret OHS lover…

Texican!!! That’s a issue for me!!! THINKING while doing squats. I’ve been on auto drive for thousands of years You’re absolutely right. I gotta think…and squat? FUCK :{ I think enough while benching …and I hate it.

pull up assignment is done 8 sets of 4, 2 sets of 3. :)
Hate it… Maybe. But you CAN do it… And you only have to do it with the really heavy weight. Mindless warm up sets probably ok

Gonna have to disagree Hallowed… sorry, dear!

You have to ingrain the thought process from rep one, set one. Attack all warm up sets like they’re heavy and treat all heavy sets like they’re light. (if that makes sense)

I had to do that and my squat is a thousand times better. Every lift is actually. It takes time and I know you’re impatient, kinda like me! But we have to do this to get ourselves into auto pilot when the weight gets heavy enough to pop our eyes outta their sockets. Last but not least, NO MIRRORS!!! I tell all my trainees that and it makes a world of difference. You don’t squat with the front of your body, so why are you looking at it? When you can feel the posterior chain throughout the movement, you’re doing it right!

Also, I almost got shot today. haha EXCITEMENT EVERYWHERE!!! YAYYYYYY!!!
That’s nuts. You be careful!

Sorry to hijack, Brute. I owe you something… name your price!

It was just a training exercise with a jumpy, young kid. Not the first time or the last. At least the weapon didn’t go off this time. Crazy kiddos! I have been shot at more in training than real life… scary!

Ok, hijack over.

YEAH I don’t like to think when I squat either.
I think there’s too damn much going on in our brains half the time and lifting is supposed to be an escape. ADDING THINKING TO OUR ESCAPE? How awful?! But it’s super important and it’s probably a good way to learn to silence the brain crazy’s and learn how to focus and whatnot.

YOu know everytime I come in this log I feel bummed that I don’t know you in real life, LOl. !

Brute, those front squats looked awesome and strong. The second rep didn’t look easy but it wasn’t exactly a mess either.

Regarding not looking at a mirror, you could switch the clips on the rack you’re using. Move them to the inside of the other side. I hope that makes sense.

I think you do carry the bar a bit farther out from your neck than I do. I try and keep it tight because it allows me to move a bit more weight since it’s over my centre.

Booo for running into a supervisor at the gym. A couple of times I ran into a client at my old gym. He was cool and after a brief hello we ignored each other.

Brute’s even nicer in person.

And I have to agree with The Texican. I once did a warmup set with just the bar and was approached by a guy who asked if I competed. I looked at the bare bar and said “how did you know?” He said that he could tell by the way I approached the bar and had my form so dialed in.

So I have to ask about the purple panther. You just don’t like my belt, do you? I’ll be calling it home soon. I will say that a belt might help with the corkscrewing. Helping you stay tight and not squirrel the weight up.

Apropos of nothing I found this the other day and thought of you.

This.

Made up my mind…gonna try to do a bit in the morning…see how it feels. It’s the vid that did it.

As for the lift, as Ouro said, you’d probably do well to keep the bar over your CoG. It’s a bit unsettling having it pressing on my throat, but I can still breathe just fine. And I do think while lifting. But only about the lift at hand. Nothing else matters at that point. Just everything having to do with the lift.

You are epic. Nuff said.

ya, your the Awesome.

OH MY GOD Texican! Be careful is right!! Stay safe!! :{ You can hijack! Much appreciation for our armed forced from This Brute!

**side note–I went to enlist when I was 20, in 2002. Did the whole weeks of paperwork baloney, interviews with the recruiter, passed the physical, did those whole walk around in panties duck walks stuff, took IQ tests at MEPS…only to be denied. :frowning:

Apparently I was “too much of an individual to be a solider”. That was what the officer who interviewed me seid!!! After this statement i looked at the officer who just ruined my plan to change my life in the eyes all upset and he noticed my nystagmus and had the neuro guy look at me…and that sealed it.

So I was heartbroken…but also keep that as a sort of compliment. TOO MUCH OF AN INDIVIUAL!! I’ve been called far worse!

O–OH GAWD. YEAH. And it was not the person I wanted to see anyways. He’s kinda a baby and annoying but he’s my supervisor so its tough. But I showed him up  HA HA! He was doing mp’s with what I was OHS’ing. In my mind I felt superior :D!!!

BEAST!!! I just don’t know about the closer to my throat thing. I have a phobia and subsequent reaction to strangulation. NO JOKE. I panic–literally in the literal sense of the term literally panic. Playfully pinching my nose together? UH UH. I flail and and claw for your eyes in a very real attempt to maim and flee.

I’ll give it a go though…with a broom stick first.

OH! AND BEAST! Be careful!!! Give your body some rest!!! Make cookies instead!!! :{!!!

SNAP!–Purple panther winks at me every day! …but i don’t think it the right size for me. Even though Dan put it on me and told me it was fine, I think its too small :frowning: At least to start getting used to a belt. Again , its another thing to think about, and a massive distraction. I should work with it, but i haven’t :frowning:

You and Texi have an excellent point, and the story with the gym asking you if you compete made me think a lot. That’s how it should be. I need to fix this.

MIM :)!!

OH! Spock!!! you do know me!! …and in real life I’m afraid my slightly unbalanced, possessive, chompy pooch Nigel kinda hogs me all to him self. He’s my love muffin…but. yeah. In real life, he doesn’t like to share his Brute!!! We inseparable the vast majority of my free time.

oh hey arachne

since i’m vid’in out

whoah that didn’t work! hah

nope I messed it up too!

I was told you know you’re a good squatter when you can do perfect squats with an empty bar.

hahaha sometimes I’m hella dumb!

good thing I’m so fucking cute.

No, that doesn’t get me far IRL either LOL.

oh i knowv Total fail!! well, I’ll go back an try and fix it…I’ll log now!

today
sheiko shakedown week 3 day 2
deadlift off box–No way can I balance off a platform so used 25’s for the deficit. I hope this is sufficant cuz my ass would fall off a platform.

170x3, 205x3 x 3 sets, 225x 3 x 4 sets. Math might be off a pound or four, adding with 25’s and 22# plates confuses me.

bench 75x5,85x4,100x3 x 2sets , 115x2 x 2 sets, 120x2 x2 sets, 115x3 x 2 sets
dl’s from pins 205x4, 245x4, 280x3 x 2 sets, 310x 2 x 3 sets
db flies 5’s x 0 x 5 sets

Worked on my squat sorta. I have a vid of me form the front so you can see my corkscrewing a bit. This is me consciously telling myself not to as well.

messed with box squats of various heights. then did squats
225, 245, 245, 255
stepmill 20 mins.

I ran into Dan the gym owner too today and as usual I was a spazzed out shy geek. He did offer to cover my fee for the March meet if i could help out a ta meet in April --totally nice1 …we shall see.

videos

Pardon the obscene view and my loud breathing.
oO

This is to show how wide I bench. I think It’s too wide.
