I approve of the asscam.

I tend to use a similar grip when I squat - I was getting horrible elbow tendonitis when I held it wider.

you use a lot of hip drive. nothin wrong with that(I think)
I think your grip on the bar is fine.

Also there is a book called Leptin Reset. Biggest take aways:

Eat at least 50 grams of protein breakfast within 30 minutes of waking

  • Allow 4-5 hours between meals
  • Eat 3 meals a day, paleo or primal diet
  • Keep carbs at 50 or below (25 if obese)
  • No snacking - black coffee or tea OK but no cream, no calories
  • Allow at least 3-4 hours between dinner and bedtime
  • No aerobic exercise or weight lifting until LS (leptin sensitivity) is re-established, walking is OK

Kinda restrictive.

I think i do my squats almost the exact same way. I tried the grip farther out before and it was AWFUL.

MIM! That letting fix is interesting, and restricitve! the hardest part besides no resistance training --yeah not going to happen! --would be eating every 3 hours. I go all day without eating, then eat a single mega meal. Not the best but its how I’ve always done it. And I usually eat then only because I want to train the next day and know i need to! once I start eating then its bombs away. Also It used to help me fall asleep when I worked overnights., having a full belly , then off to sleep in a melt. Its…stupid but manageable.

OH AND YOU. Ms. Hallowed.I have a bone to pick with you—a wish bone! ! ! ! ! ! WWWWEEEEEEEE because your panties helped me get a pr today! One I’ve been after for EVER. Thank you so! ! !

I visited my lover, Mr. OH Squat today. I am doing the sheiko, but I’m not stopping OHS min days. They make me so happy.

oh eyeah, and I forgot to tell about my back squat experience. I did a few back squats- like 4 just to get some heavy wt on my shoulders. Well, they felt heavy as shit. just did onefifty-five, 205, 245. 245 felt way heavy. I only did a walk out with 265. Makes me really wonder if its better to just hang up my squat shoes. I dunno. :frowning:

well, now i won’t do that anymore. Must be mature, be calm and limit my cheats to ohs. I KNOW …I KNOW I’m a newbie at this program shiz…no excuse.

Is this the first time you’ve tried sticking to a real solid program instead of just going in and lifting insane amounts of weight for an insane amount of reps?? Whatever you do, it works…

Brutus, I did absolutely NO back squatting for a month (fronts, OHS, lunges, deads, etc. only), and then got a belt-less PR when I was bored on Saturday and did them again. So ya know, maybe it’ll all work out okay. :smiley:

Hey Spock- I mean limit my cheats as in limit what I do that isn’t on the program. This is in fact the first program I’ve ever followed ever really for more then one workout or so. I won’t stop seeing my boyfriend OHS (cheating) while committed to the sheiko program. But I will stop the back squats for maxes. :frowning:

also…yeah…some of the accessories I’ll swap. I just am going to.

I have done two meets before. My bench limits my success so much! ha ha! but i hate it so i don’t loose sleep over it. Here’s my meet history. i have no one key…i have to copy and paste, and i have the ! on paste right now, I’m saving the one copy for when I write out my wt’s next page. if that makes sense? :smiley:

first one- march 20ten: wt one sixty six pounds, bench one ten–yes that’s all, sq 255 dl 320
second meet december 2ten: wt one fifty five pounds , bench one thirty three, squat 292, dl 336

in the gym I’ve gotten a near near near near near 340 dl. got over my knees only, and a just at paralell 320 sq. Bench has never been more then a questionable one forty. I’ve been stagnant for a year in my progress really :{ last year was hard, I hurt my back a few times and I had some emotional baloney to mettle thru.

LULA!! As for back sq’s, I’m going to limit them. put them in the front squat slot on the sheiko. I won’t be doing much wt but I need to deal with my form. light wts make it easier …but its so unappealing :frowning:

PMPM-- That’s awesome! :)!! :smiley: I…I dunno. I haven’t really trained my back sq in the past year it seems. I go in spurts for like 2 weeks at a time doing singles then i quit for a while. But you have a point, lots of supportive variations can’t hurt and can only help build my strength. I just, you’ve seen me squat. I’m a gm’r to the extreme. Problem is sometimes it hurts, but the vast majority of the time my weird form doesn’t hurt at all…it looks like shit however. And I obviously have no patience to fix it. >:(
