Dani! you are right one. the first vid is of me trying to do things better. I initially did some squats trying it my way ( the second vid) then got pissy, did cardio and tried again to fix it. I’m fairly sure the first one its probably better. I’m going to change my angle on the camera and try again.

On an up note, I forgot how much I liked squats! REALLY!

I forgot that before i knew anything about powerlifting I used to just squat all the time–ALL THE TIME.

In Texas all I had really to look forward to was that squat rack in my really trashy trailer. My life was a mess, I was in a very scary bad situation, i worked at a nursing home changing diapers and showering old people, had no car, had no friends, my family wasn’t speaking to me, but i had mah rack! And it made me proud! Something to look forward to daily.

bad form sure but I just loved it! In my own head I was a superstar because no one I knew did squats or lifted at all. And it was impressive to me. made me feel confident in something. I’m burdened with the knowledge now that there are lots of badasses…but really? what does it matter!

My legs were happy today. not sore but just happy! Here’s to thoughtless non-comparing to others futures workouts. Here’s some more emo: Totally not me vs me, but Brute for Brute! ARRRR!!! :D!

giving up bread is hard… i used to practically live off the stuff… my current flatmate is into paleo eating which is really good for me. still have a couple things i’m hiding around the place but am starting to transition out… one of them is transitioning out of flour. there are subs… rice flour. almond meal (delicious but gotta earn those calories, i think). he has some gluten free bread mix… we haven’t tried making bread with it but, um, it makes delicious cakes…

i’m starting to get a bit conscious of my flab with my chin-ups, now… my abs are nowhere near close to being in sight. hmm… sorry to hear that meat doesn’t seem to be agreeing with you… i don’t know what i’d do without meat these days. have learned to be a bit careful of onions… dammit.

AWW you could totally like write a squatting essay on what squatting means to you for some kinda squatting essay contest and win 500 dollars… or something. tear

Squats looked good! I can’t critique em, but I’m curious as to why they told you to spread your hands out on the bar? I was always told to bring them in tight, as much as you can comfortably? But i have my own squat issues, so maybe doing that was specific to my form. Anyways, you have a lovely back arch on them squats - jelly!!

Hey! Do you know what blood type you are? I’ve found that looking into blood type diets are interesting. I naturally stay away from MOST foods that are bad for me. It’s not set in stone but it’s good for suggestion purposes. Here’s a link:

Awesome squatting :slight_smile: Maybe the only suggestion I can make is to think of tightening up your glutes to start the movement when you’re coming out of the hole and pushing the floor away. Your hips are coming up a bit too much first and then your semi-good morning it to finish the lift. Think chest up. But still, seriously badass :wink:

cardio

today
front sq 135x18, x10,regular sq up to 255 went way to deep on 265 and crashed out

then some complexes with 85, 95, lunges and overhead.

I miss the pw mojo :frowning: hard to get goin in the morning for workouts ! its a total routine to check logs and then go! bleh!

oh i see it now lula! pull ups are going! did 3 sets of 4, 7 of 3. well, last set of 4 was more like 3.5 so i made it up on the final set. if that makes sense.

Yep. I heard about it. He texted me asking what was up with you. Why you left. I told him you are shy. The guy he had with him is a GREAT lifter. He showed up at Worlds in Canada and had no room. Hotel was full. So he shared with me. No joke.

My coach knows you are a shy girl with a lot of talent. Cause I’ve told him.
