Snap! I will keep at it on the pull up for sure. Funny, my excitement is still there but I am starting to realize the smartness of the once a week sets. I can’t do any if i tried today! I’ve been good…only did em weds.

Snaps proposal of a fun meet for the state games in 3 weeks had me thinking…I haven’t tried any maxes in a long time, beside squats. they don’t really count though since i’m very rusty on those too… Hmmm.
today’s training was a bit disappointing but not surprising. I tried for a max on my dl and of course its way down. I’m not shocked because I’ve been chasing my reps attacks , when i feel wt that isn’t something i feel i can do a lot of reps for i tend to stall out.

I spoil myself when i lift!..i really do…and tend to do stuff i like out of pure joy and not any common sense training wise. I’m not really into wts for any concrete reasons other then making me happy… Such as doing the extra pullups when i was specifically warned not too.
I have to remind myself since I have committed to that program that other people take it very seriously. i pissed off the guy at elitefts! I hope i can redeem myself by following directions…if he gives me another chance!
After looking on that site i see a WHOLE other philosophy to lifting then mine. I’m a party girl at heart!..or like Nadia had said about her own stuff…i train like an asshole! ![]()

I was always a solid tech, and personally i feel i went above and beyond other peoples work but now i want to be way way above that… I want to prove myself so much more now! I hope it shows!

i’m sure the guy at elitefs will forgive you in time. once he sees you work hard on the program. i’ve missed things, too, because i expected peopel to email me rather than post a response on boards that i check infrequently (or respond via pm where i need to be logged in to boards i check infrequently).
my chin-ups got better since i’ve now realized that my olympic weightlifting shoes (with their additional heel raise) really are a non-trivial weight when it comes to chin-ups! put my sneakers on and i did 10x1 so easily i actually got (for the first time ever) a double round numbers 4-5!!! i forget where you are at with them… but i’ll be very interested to follow your progress along because i’d like to get better at these to.
Those are AMAZING deadlifts. I can’t even fathom what over three hundy pounds feel like. You are awesome.
thanks Dani!..but they aren’t my best… I’ve not budged on my max dl for nearly a year–and I haven’t pulled that in a LONG time. But its my own doing and now hope to change it!
Alexus!! Oh man do i know how much a lil extra wt makes a difference on the chins or pullups. my god! does it ever. And the elitefts guy gave me another chance!! this weeks assignment is 7 sets of 2. i’ll do em later this week:)
Checking out that site is great because there are so many people asking him for pull up advice. if you look thru the q and a you can see all the people doing their own quests. makes you feel less alone and pathetic but also interesting to see how he prescribes different lifters to do different things based on their individual abilities. way cool!
this brings up the fact that i have EMBARRASSINGLY weak shoulders, deltoids etc. the 8 week program I’ve been doing is awakening muscles i NEVER use. and I have to use minimal wt. I can’t feel too bad except for my own laziness in avoid that area of my body. can’t blame my lil muscles! I’m the one in charge of making them decent.

You going though has made me stop and test some maxes…and they aren’t pretty! about 30 pounds down on my dl…sq is probably 20 pounds down…bench is disgusting… I’ve put on about 14 pounds…excuses excuses!!
