Brute: Those pullups look great. Really, really good. I love the fuuuck at the end. Awesome. But seriously, what the hell are you doing? Did you get an assignment from Harry? He’s going to progress you really slowly to start. It might frustrate you since you are so highly motivated with the pullups right now. Trust the slow progression. Never do more than what he tells you to do! I made that mistake before.
i haven’t heard back from him yet --jsut wrote yesterday. i just kinda did the 5 sets of 2 outta the blue today really! but i’ll do whatever he tells me to. with results like yours it can’t be bad advice!
also who the hell knows if i’ll be this enthusiastic next week?! ha! I might be only crawling thru 1 at a time. that’s probably the likely event!
I’m really excited you wrote to Harry. I’ll confess that I love that man–not just because he helped me get good at pullups, but because his time and attention really helped me feel like an athlete again. YOu’re in very good hands!

And I’m with Kristoph! This might unlock some upper body strength that will kheel your lifts. And then just think how much more weight you can casually toss above your head! HAHA!

I pretty much suck at pull-ups as well - I carry most of my weight in my lower body which doesn’t help. Good job though. Best thing is just to grease the groove - do a few every time you walk under the bar. (I’m still waiting for mine to improve though!)
And yeah, awesome hamstring (cute shorts too).

This is so absolutely true. There is no quit in Brute. She might fail - ya know, get crushed by a 600 lb squat some day - but she will never quit midway through.
^^ I have, in fact, used Brute’s ferociousness as inspiration during squat days.

today was bench rep day. I think of one of my hero’s doing this now. From all my hours poring over Dog Whisper things I came across a Cesar Milan clip of him bench repping out with the dogs at dog rehab place in south central. true, it was only 95 pounds he had on the bar, but those dogs where blown away while they trotted next to him on the treadmill. so i rep out like ceasar.

That was an AWESOME video! I’ve only ever done 3 consecutive pullups ever. So, I’m very impressed.

I don’t think you should do anymore pullups until you get an assignment from Harry. But you should do the 8 weeks to monstrous shoulders program. He’ll want to know that you are doing that. SO start that up ASAP. And be sure to tell him that you have begun that program in your next correspondence.

Also, in case you had trouble finding them, here are the questions Harry wants you to answer before he will give you an assignment:
What is your pullup goal?
What is your training goal?
What is your training age?
HOw many pullups can you do now? (I think he generally wants to know how many you can do in a single set. But you can also tell him what you did for your last pullup workout and how that went if you want too).
HOw much do you weigh?
HOw tall are you?
Pullups or chinups?
